Buckpasser · I thought BH reported that Encke tested negative after the St. Leger. Also according to the London Times, if more of AZ's horses test positive, which they have, he will be suspended far longer than the eight years. · 14 hours ago ·

Buckpasser · I see federal legislation is being proposed to deal with drugs in racing. They are tying the drug enforcement to interstate wagering and simulcasting and are charging the USADa which oversees drug rules etc. for the Olympics for enforcement. This will be interesting as this power would come through interstate commerce and could finally unify drug laws and enforcement throughout the US. It is coming out of committe so there will be more to come but it looks like the hearings earlier in the year are bearing some fruit. · 12 hours ago ·

Plus Barzalona schooling Joseph again...first in the Dubai World Cup then now in the St.Leger. If you are gonna give Barzalona a head start with a good horse he will beat Joseph every time. Simply out ridden. Now take down Camelot and put the ONLY triple Crown winner in his spot which is ORFEVRE! · 245 days ago ·

ILuvTurfRacing · There are gonna be those who will say Camelot got a terrible trip in the St. Leger, and there will be those who will say Joseph O'Brien rode a poor race on Camelot in the St. Leger. I've watched the replay 3 or 4 times now and Joseph O'Brien had Camelot situated directly behind the eventual winner, Encke, when Mickael Barzalona took off on Encke and stole the break on Camelot. The bottom here is that Encke's acceleration was instant today and Camelot's wasn't. Be it the extra 2-1/2f further than he'd ever run before or what, Camelot just simply didn't pick up today in the St. Leger like he has in his other races when Joseph O'Brien has ask him to go and win his race. It took Camelot awhile to find his best stride today, and by then it was too little, too late. Encke had simply already stole too much real estate on him. JMO. · 247 days ago ·

footlick · Camelot had plenty of time to run down the lead horse if he was good enough, like it or not. Joseph did what he had to do if they were worried about the distance, save ground and keep the horse covered up. Camelot was not good enough. SNA would have run that horse down. · 247 days ago ·

edgaropena · I just watched th replay and Joseph O'Brien made a bad judgment sticking inside of Enckel at the rail. Enckel had the perfect trip firing first. Mikael Barzalona showed his experience by having Encke where he needed to be. I also think the rail was the best position to be in. I really think it was jockey error and I do not buy the argument that Camelot could of run him down despite of what occurs during the race. Even the best horses in the world can lose by a bad trip.
