Eightyfiveinafifty drilled a 5f bullet in 1:00.67 at Belmont Park on 6-15. No word on his comeback race.   
See that Eightyfiveinafifty is back on thye worktab. Went 3 furlongs on the Belmont training track in a slow(for him) 37.88. Either he's mellowed a lot or he's not the same. GWill give him one more work to see if he picks up. Know he has been incredibly sick. Must not be any decent stud options or he probably would be retired after what he's gone through. Will watch with interest.
  • bigbrown2332 · Don't expect him to go so fast when he's getting back on the work tab. Just becasue he went slow his first work back off a layoff doesn't mean that he's not the same horse. He needed a nice easy work under his belt first, and don't be suprised if he goes slow for the next few weeks. He won't get to serious speed wise in his works for a bit longer. I still have complete faith in him. Contessa can get him back to the way he was. He said he was going to make him into the best sprinter in the country. · 301 days ago ·

My point is that the fact that they could get a slow work into him means he's either matured and mellowed enough to be restrained or he isn't capable of it yet. But, IMO, D'Funnybone has raced over conventional dirt as impressively and as effectively as any of the other 3yr.old contenders this season has.
