  • tmallios1 · That i doubt, Although we should be active in the sales this year. Hopefully we come up with something good. Did you notice that Vyjacks Mom(Lifes Happenning) in foal to Harlans Holiday sold for $750K. Blew me right out of the waters. I was happy for the Breeder. She was rewarded handsomely. · 100 days ago ·

2 year old filly : Chriselliam, Ria Antonia, She's a Tiger

  • striped mentality · I have to question the nomination of Chriselliam as well ... if there were going to go with a grass filly any way (which I really don't understand to begin with) Why not choose a consistant winner? Or at the very least a North American horse. She won't win, but it is still slightly upsetting that she is even on the ballot. · 101 days ago ·

  • kaitlinefree1 · i see why Ria Antonia is on here because of the Breeder's Cup, but she won by DQ. she didn't actually win. & she had sub par performances otherwise. like why. · 101 days ago ·

Personally it is getting a bit boring listening to the same arguments supporting favorites fo theirrespective divisional awards. Rcing has developed its showcase day on the first weekend of November every year. Why not have those result in what they were originally meant to do. Identify the divisional champion by who wins the race. Is it a full proof system ,absolutely not. The winners of the designated races should be crowned Champions. Look how good it works in sports. Is the team that wins the World Series,The Stanley Cup or the Super Bowl the undisputable best team that year. Absolutely not,but it is the closest way to decide a winner. On the field,in racing let it be on the track. I think it is a lot better than allowing sometimes biased mediapersonalities decide the crowns.
Horse of the Year: Mucho Macho Man, Will Take Charge, Wise Dan

  • Buckpasser · CFC. The Breeders Cup has lessened the importance of many races, including the Travers, and the fall racing at Belmont, like the JCGC. Before the advent of the BC, believe me The Travers, the Arlington Classic and other races were the must wins for divisional honors. · 101 days ago ·

  • travel_vic · By LIMITING and CONCENTRATING all into a single days racing, it has negated the effect of the multiple competitive chances...IT also confuses the voter giving too much weight to that single performance · 101 days ago ·

  • shores · This is really the only category where, either way, I won't be disappointed. Both fillies had an abolsutely unbelievable year, and when your horse that probably won't get too much consideration (Close Hatches, although I really like her) is a horse of such talent as well, you've got to be excited, especially since all three are coming back next year. · 101 days ago ·

  • Buckpasser · This is the toughest category IMO. I have loved the Princess since the beginning(and was rewarded with a nice payout in the Oaks), but Beholder is more than worthy. Flip a coin on this one. · 101 days ago ·

  • tmallios1 · Just very curious. Wise Dan and MMM are both nominated for HOTY Honors. Both are older Horses. On that rationale,by whoever selected the 3 finalists. How can GOD have a shot to wrestle the Crown from them. I think the selectors have automatically made this a 2 horse contest. · 101 days ago ·
