Older Comments about Dublin...

Just happened to be looking at Racingpost.com's web-site from the UK, and read about Dublin having fractured his sesamoid bone. Surprised that story's not on this web-site? Really unfortunate for trainer D. Wayne Lucas and connection's, as I had heard that Dublin had recently been firing some bullet works, and Lucas thought the horse was prime to have a big summer!! Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the very same kind of injury that just retired Paddy O' Prado as well?
  • jblank001 · Dublin did not run a step against NW2 Opt claiming at CD (maybe hurt), after DWL said he was going after BC Dirt Mile. Also after DWL had the horse working bullets...sounds to me like a familiar occurence from this barn. John B · 2020 days ago
  • RachelLover · So sorry to hear this about Dublin. Was looking forward to his return. · 2020 days ago
You are awesome!!!! I rode you and petted you!!! You rock! My uncle hotwalks you!
What is going on with this horse?
im sorry but this horse has only gotten coverage because of his sire. He just really has not preformed well enough to deserve the hype he is getting and i firmly believe that lukas is way past his prime and will never have an elite horse again.
Dublin has raced 9 Horses probable for the Derby. Super Saver beat him twice. 7 others beat him once. The only one he has a winning record against is Mission Impazible. OVER RATED!!!
  • dipdipsett · i jumped off his boat but might get back on it i feel he wants the derby distince idk about the ride under t.t he does have the pedigree · 2456 days ago
  • myownbusiness · This is actually a pretty interesting stat · 2456 days ago
Everybody talks about him needing the distance. I watch his races and I do not see that he is gaining ground or running that strong at the end?

  • cigar · BigBrown -- Very interesting point as he's starting to look more like a closing sprinter than a closing distance horse. Could be somewhat overbet. · 2456 days ago
  • davidcrone · Tough to love how he has been acting in the mornings too. A horse trying to bolt repeatedly just a few days out from a race in front of 120,000 fans in a 20 horse field is not exactly encouraging. · 2456 days ago
Made a good run in the Arkansas Derby, only to fall short again. Are excuses and falling short becoming a trend, or is the Derby distance what he needs?

  • cigar · He needs to make one run, not this in-between stuff he's doing. · 2471 days ago
  • railbird33 · I didn't see the Beyers, but with Lucas training, he could be a "Geranimo" sleeper- who puts it all together in three weeks. · 2470 days ago
Worked :48.20 in his first work since the Southwest. Looks to have bounced out of the race in great condition. The work was probably better than the time indicated because the track was on the dull side.
  • cigar · I like the spacing and I liked his effort...he'll do okay as the races progress in Arkansas. · 2511 days ago
I just went back and watched Dublin's effort on Saturday and it was darn good. The Beyer also came back solid. I'm sure Lukas was okay with the effort, but going forward, this guy should be okay. Remember, he's by Afleet Alex, who looked like a horse who could run all day.
Lukas cannot be upset with his effort yesterday. He never got out of the gate well and was left at the back with a lot to do. He made a steady ascent through the field while wide and finished well. He was a bit tired towards the end, but with any forward progression he'll be right there.
the redraw has to olny help dublin bringing him from post 10 to 3 this chnages ever thing

  • cigar · The hype on Dublin is because the hype on the race is weak... I think he's the story, so he's "larger" than he is... hopefully I'm wrong on this. · 2522 days ago
I'm interesting in this horse stretching out... there's so little to go on with this division right now.
