What the Horse Racing Nation is saying about Dreamy Kid...

Santa Anita Derby winner Midnight Interlude continues his promising career as a grass runner Saturday when heading a full field of 14 three-year-olds in Santa Anita’s Grade II, $150,000 Oak Tree Derby at 1 1/8 miles on turf.Trained by Bob Baffert, Arnold Zetcher’s homebred son of War Chant is coming...Read More
The Grade 1 Travers, to be run at Saratoga on Saturday, August 27, is shaping up as the race of the summer with Preakness hero Shackleford, Belmont Stakes winner Ruler On Ice, Haskell winner Coil, and Belmont runner-up and Jim Dandy hero Stay Thirsty. Trainer Bob Baffert has not fully committed to t...Read More
josephe-im throwing this race out...jockey started too freak when the running started..oh boy JOJO...have an idea and commit! wow that was ugly...poor Kid..wanted new jock..
josephe-Like too see 3 year olds turn the corner about this time of year...Dreamy Kid's style of racing can prolong an upward spiral..hope today goes well with him should be set for a good showing if he travels ok....hope too see him and Coil battle it out in a few weeks..peace
  • MichaelPavelick · Based upon this horses last 1/4 mile time in the Swaps, I have sneaky feeling he's the horse to beat. This is a race to watch the odds pool. If Prayer For Relief gets hammered in the win pool, Dreamy Kid might be a real value in the win pool. · 294 days ago ·

  • MichaelPavelick · Just watched Infrattini on video in the Matt Winn S. Dangerous colt. I think he could be minor grade 2 company, and looks like a real nice grade 3 colt, not sure if hes ready for $750,000 grade 2. Slight class disadvantage. He could be a shocker, I don't completely rule him out. · 296 days ago ·

Older MalesThe road to the 2011 Breeders’ Cup Classic is back in full swing at Saratoga with the Grade 1 Whitney on August 6th. Post positions will be drawn on Wednesday morning and the stellar field is expected to include Met Mile hero Tizway, Apart, Duke of Mischief, Flat Out, Friend Or Foe, Giant...Read More
The Grade 1 Haskell was the deepest 3yo graded route of the summer with the Preakness and Belmont winners, and my number one ranked (since 6-29) 3yo Coil proved that his Swaps defeat was nothing more than a slight detour. He is indeed the top sophomore in the land following a game late running victo...Read More
Coil really made the swaps look good. Dreamy Kid is a nice horse as well and improving, hope to see him soon on track.
josephe-Coil flatters The Kid----hope to see this horse too run on again....sure love his trainer...peace
if the "Nation" has time go to calracing.com and watch 12-18-10 & 1-8-11 races focusing on Dreamy Kid. Take notice of the horse laying off the pace, and his professional looking sustained drive. He simply looks like a "real thoroughbred" when he runs. Then he was given a 4 1/2 month freshner. His 1st race back against 3 yr.old & up, notice how the announcer says Dreamy Kid is "asked for speed" and he is actually 1st at the "first call" or 100 yards out. I LIKE THAT!! When compared to him laying off the pace and making a sustained run, asking the horse for speed off of a layoff is a EXCITING SIGN!!!He wins that race impressively after being used up early, he shows a late nice source of energy, and again looks professional with his stride. One month later he has a nice "even" 4th place finish. Nice break after a difficult maiden victory. Brought back to 2 weeks with a bullet 4f move just 4 days ago. I think this horse is EXTREMELY sharp, and will layoff the pace, and show a BIG kick at a mile & 1/8th. He should be a super nice overlay in the win pool in the Swaps stakes at Hollywood on Saturday the 9th.

  • seanwins · Did you hear just before the quarter the announcer saying Garcia is trying to get a hold on coil but hes throwing his head up he wants to run? Why woudnt the jockey let this horse run his race? Right, he didnt want him to fade in the stretch. Its always the same lame excuses. .I would love to know if Baffert called for this. This field made me think of the 73 Belmont with its 5 horse entry, except Ronnie LET Secretariat stretch out early and that took trust. But, I believe, a great horse knows what to do and when to do it. Nothing from Kid, he was brilliant. And he definately had a better Jockey on him.Just my opinion. · 320 days ago ·

  • MichaelPavelick · Coil is being pointed toward bigger races at the end of July. Swaps was just a way to keep Coil active and sharp. The Jockey was follwoing Bafferts instruction's. Last 1/4 time was amazing for both Coil & "Kid". I've been offline because of a power outage in our area for 5 days. · 315 days ago ·

My number one ranked three-year-old Coil was run down by 19-1 outsider Dreamy Kid in Saturday’s Grade 2 Swaps at Hollywood Park. Dreamy Kid, trained by Neil Drysdale, is a late blooming son of Lemon Drop Kid, and the blinkers really seemed to help him focus. He earned a solid 96 BSF for his rallying...Read More

A New horse in the block is born..might be a superstar in the making..
Dreamy kid ran like a professional, this is improving and matures very fast, a contender looming and might be a great horse if it continues to develop like what he showed in the swaps..
Trainer Bob Baffert had to settle for second and third in the afternoon’s supporting feature, the $150,000 Swaps Stakes.   Dreamy Kid, who was making his first start in blinkers and first in a graded race, shocked heavily-favored Coil to win by a head.   Trained by Neil Drysdale for owner-...Read More
Baffert will be aiming for a record fifth victory in the Swaps when he saddles probable favorite Coil.
