Dominus has been scratched from today's Fort Lauderdale Stakes at Gulfstream Park.
El Padrino, who returned from an eight-month layoff to finish second in an open allowance race at Gulfstream on Dec. 19, is being pointed to the $100,000 Hal’s Hope (G3) on Jan. 13. The one-turn mile will serve as a prep for the $500,000 Donn Handicap (G1) at Gulfstream on Feb. 9. Read More

Nikki’s Sandcastle, already a two-time stakes winner on turf at Gulfstream Park this season; and Stonestreet Farm, George Bolton and Spendthrift Farm’s 5-year-old Dominus will be among the favorites in a talented field of 11 older horses drawn for Saturday’s $150,000 Fort Lauderdale Stakes (G2).Read More
Anyone have any idea what's next for Dominus, if he's still in training?

Neck ’n Neck had one horse beat in the early stages of the 20th running of the Grade III, $110,400 Ack Ack Handicap at Churchill Downs, but put in a strong rally on the final turn from the outside and powered home in the stretch for a convincing 2 ¼-length win over Fort Loudon.Read More

  • icyhotboo · I believe Wise Dan is one of the best horses I've seen run, period. He runs on all surfaces, any distane, always fires, and he's a gelding which is good for the fans as we'll get to see more of him. Aside from Frankel this is the best horse runninng today IMO · 225 days ago ·

I know it was 1 1/4, but he's not in the top 10 after that performance against straight 3 year old. Plus, if Obviously & Little Mike both show up for the BC mile, he'll be in for a long day. · 247 days ago ·

This just baffle's me that they entered Dominus in the Bernard Baruch-G2 which is on the Turf.
Of the nine graded stakes that trainer Shug McGaughey has won in 2012, eight have been on the turf.
