Crushed them today!
Check out R5 at Belmont. Plenty of good looking babies facing off. #3 Etisalaat (6-1) is trained by Kiaran McLaughlin. He registered a very solid workout, going 47 and 3 from the gate at Belmont last out. Notice the switch from the training track to the main track, showing it was planned to be his last work before his debut, and Kmac got exactly what he wanted. 47:3 from the gate on the main track clearly shows some speed. Expect the #3 to get out on the front. He's a major contender and a quality juvenile. Kmac is only a decent trainer with firsters, but this one looks formidable. Next is #5 American Strong (6-1) trained by Chad Brown and ridden by the Belmont-struggling Johnny Velazquez. American Strong comes from a hot first time sire, Pioneerofthenile, and comes from a quality broodmare. He has had a plethora of solid workouts and might be the most conditioned out of this field. He was a $170k purchase by Dizney, so he looks good. The fact that Johnny Velazquez did not go with the Todd Pletcher animal tells this one oughta run well. The next two are two colts my friend Carlos has been watching/hearing about for months. First, #9 Divine Energy (3-1) trained and ridden by quality duo Todd Pletcher and Javier Castellano. Divine Energy is a quirky young colt by brilliant sire, Tapit. In his first race going 5f, he finished 4th, beaten 2 3/4 lengths, by three speedballs. He showed good late foot, switched to the inside, and did not have enough room, the correct track, nor the ability to win. But, the fast pace and bias track, favoring speedballs, made this one look very impressive. He now gets blinkers, a move Todd Pletcher struggles with, so expect him to either be VERY impressive or VERY terrible. Finally, a huge longshot, #8 Bourbon Sense (15-1) trained by Chad Brown and ridden by Edgar Prado. This one's last work, a 4F breeze in 49 flat, was accordingly a tremendous breeze. He is by a stakes winning mare and hot sire Street Sense. He was bought for $100k. He is known for his huge stride. The two picks, Divine Energy and Bourbon Sense, both are expected to sit back and make runs towards the end. Who's Z Daddy and Michevious are two that are possible upsetters with bright future. This should be a good race. My money will go on American Strong (6-1) but I will sure to use all these in exotic bets.
  • rafirox · Etisalaat and American Strong are my top picks. Can't exclude any picks of Carlos', but these are some he feels unconfident in. His best picks usually are in capital letters, enthusiasm and a long explanaintion, like he did with "Jojo Warrior" who won by 5 lengths in her debut, posted on HRN. These two just gotta "track these two" warning. And also he says Bourbon Sense might need a race or two to figure things out. Should be a good juvenile going 6f. · 752 days ago
