What the Nation is saying about Distorted Humor...

Quietly, one of the best performances on an excellent Saturday of racing took place in Oaklawn Park’s Essex Handicap. On paper the race looked like it would be Pin Oak Stable’s Alternation to lose. Although 2011 became largely a season of unfulfilled potential for the attractive son of Distorted Hum...Read More
  • Winplacsho · It's nice to see Alternation back, it seemed like he fell off the map after that subpar effort in the Jim Dandy. I agree that this horse is similar to Blame in a couple of ways: running style, under the radar by being midwest based & no triple crown starts as a 3 year old. · 3 days ago ·

  • ScottDick · I've heard rumors he might ship to NY to run in the Wood. But that will be against UNCLE MO. We'll see he definitely has a belmont running style. He reminds me a bit of Summer Bird. · 325 days ago ·

  • brent.austin.neikirk · I think The Factor is a brilliant runner with enough stamina in his pedigree to stretch that great speed he has to the 10f Derby distance. Now, as far as his running style goes, I agree with Zipse in that I like a horse that can rate for the Derby and even more I like fast closers with an awesome, strong late kick like Afleet Alex and Street Sense. Though, I'm not dismissing The Factor by any means. I will use him as long as he has a good 9f run in the Arkansas Derby. Obviously, Uncle Mo is the one to beat and I think he will have no problem with the 10f Derby distance, though some would disagree. He has showed that he can rate and I think he's getting enough stamina from his BMS, Arch, to excel at the longer distances. One horse that I like a lot right now is PrePeg. I was at Churchill when his daddy won it in '00. The San Felipe was very impressive and he has a great pedigree and gets plenty of stamina from the bottom half with horses like Summer Squall, his BMS, and The Axe. And having the great Secretariat in the X-passing position is a key part in passing the LH gene. PrePeg also has many great Reine-de-course mares like Blackball, Weekend Surprise, Source Sucree, Lavendula and more. I'm anxious to see how well he does in the SA Derby. I think this guy is starting to peak! · 316 days ago ·

Last weekend on the Kentucky Derby (gr. I) scene, the most impressive performance was the effort of the much-touted Brethren in the Sam F. Davis (gr. III, video below). In terms of a classic pedigree, Brethren (TrueNicks A+) is almost uniquely qualified, as not only has his sire Distorted Humor (Tru...Read More
In the 135 year history of the Kentucky Derby (gr. I) there has never been two winners produced by a single mare, let alone two winners in consecutive years. Brethren, a half-brother to this year’s Kentucky Derby winner, Super Saver, overcame a slight stumble at the start to debut a winner in today’s second race at Belmont Park.   Part of a coupled entry that was favored at 3-5, Brethren quickly recovered from his bobble and led in the early stages ...Read More

  • gardenesque1 · Endorsement seems to possess many of the characteristics (breeding, tactical speed, finishing kick) of a Kentucky Derby contender.
