Older Comments about Demonic...

John Sadler scratched Demonic from yesterday’s Malibu Stakes because the son of Bernardini “popped a quarter crack. He shouldn’t miss too much time and hopefully can make the Strub,” the trainer said. The Grade II, $200,000 Strub will be run Jan. 18 at a mile and a sixteenth.
Gl today hope this starts you off on a great carear
Maiden winner Demonic still has an outside chance of getting on the Kentucky Derby trail after losing valuable training time due to a bruised foot. “He worked yesterday at Hollywood (five furlongs in 1:00.40) and is scheduled to work again next Saturday,” trainer John Sadler said. “Obviously, we’ll need points for him to get to the (Kentucky) Derby. The Blue Grass and the Arkansas Derby are possible (for his next race).”
Demonic worked 5f in 1:01.20 (7/20) at Betfair Hollywood Park on 3-22.
  • mdracing69 · Maiden winner Demonic, who worked five furlongs on Betfair Hollywood Park’s Cushion Track Friday in 1:01.20, still has an outside chance of getting on the Triple Crown trail. “He’ll work next week and then we’ll know,” trainer John Sadler said Saturday. · 862 days ago
John Sadler assistant Larry Benavidez said Triple Crown hopeful Demonic is scheduled to work “probably Thursday” with the April 6 Santa Anita Derby still a possibility.

  • mdracing69 · John Sadler said Triple Crown hopeful Demonic was “back on the track today” after an undisclosed ailment, “but won’t be running the San Felipe (Stakes on March 9). He’s back in training and will probably gallop tomorrow but I’ll have to chart a new course.” · 885 days ago
  • Duvalier · Glad to hear Demonic is over the foot issue and back in training for Sadler. · 885 days ago
According to Steve Anderson of the DRF, Demonic is nursing a bruised foot and will miss the San Felipe at Santa Anita on March 9th. Sadler aid he has no specific plans for Demonic this spring.
John Sadler said the status for Demonic in the March 9 San Felipe Stakes is “questionable.” The Triple Crown hopeful is nursing an unrevealed malady which has curtailed his training schedule.
Trainer John Sadler on deciding to run Demonic in the March 9 San Felipe Stakes at 1 1/16 miles as opposed to Sunday’s San Vicente Stakes at seven furlongs: “We want to get him stretched out and there are no (Kentucky Derby qualifying) points in the San Vicente the way the new system is, so we’ll point to the other race.” Demonic, a Triple Crown hopeful owned by Lee and Susan Searing’s CRK Stable, broke his maiden at first asking going seven furlongs on Jan. 13 as the even-money favorite in a field of eight, getting up by a head under Garrett Gomez.
John Sadler said Triple Crown hopeful Demonic, who worked five furlongs Tuesday on 1:00.20 under Garrett Gomez, is nominated to the San Vicente (at seven furlongs on Feb. 17) and the San Felipe (at 1 1/16 miles on March 9). “He’ll probably go in one of the San races,” the trainer said.
Triple Crown hopeful Demonic worked four furlongs Tuesday in 46.80. “He’ll work again next Tuesday,” trainer John Sadler said. “We’re going to look at possibly the San Felipe (March 9).”
Nice colt, maybe allowance or San Felipe next
  • tcglory · Hes a late bloomer, and the only way i see him getting to the derby is winning his next race which will be an allowance around 2 turns then the santa anita derby, cause john wont push him straight into stakes next · 916 days ago
  • ghelguera · But out here in Cali you hardly get 3yo allowance races that's why he might go into graded stakes next · 916 days ago
Nice debut win. Was running 4-5 wide all the way around the turn, and in the 6-7 path turning for home. Think he'll like added distance also.
Demonic was given an 88 Beyer for his debut win.
Makes his career debut today in the 4th at Santa Anita.
