on October 26, Debt Ceiling worked 6F at Laurel Park on Fast Dirt in 1:12.40 h finishing 1/1.
  • rafirox · I keep trying to talk myself into liking this one (I saw his first two races in person and also have witnessed him train on several occasions), but I just don't care for him. This breeze was a 7 out of 10 at best and I don't think it is a surprise this colt has not succeeded against elite competition. He should stick to local stakes races, in my opinion. · 421 days ago
Debt Ceiling cooled out fine. You just don't know if they can stretch out until you try it. He will go back to sprinting.
I don't think he is Kentucky Derby quality he would be better as like a Justin Phillip or Strapping Groom or even Groupie Doll, u know a sprinter
Eased up in the stretch again, hope he's alright.
Gets back to winning in the First State Dash.
WIN
Debt Ceiling fired a 4 furlong bullet in an eye popping 47 flat! the best of 45 works at this distance, he worked over the Laurel surface. Monmouth, here we come!

  • rafirox · You didn't see the work, but it was "eye popping"???? Gallops mean just as much as works. Your "FIVE MAIDENS TO WATCH" were all with fast workouts time and/or a great pedigree with a superb sibling. You DID NOT track them, you picked out obvious ones. My point: You didn't pick the ones who were impressive in the morning, why? Because you didn't SEE them work.... you simply picked the 1.3 million dollar purchases who are siblings to Bodemeister, Cross Traffic and Secret Circle. · 470 days ago
  • Sullivan · Yes, to see a horse be the best of 45 other works, that is eye popping. Gallops and works are completely different. As for my FIVE MAIDENS TO WATCH, they were ones who I liked and friends liked. I found one on facebook, another by a friend, and the other three by auction. Only one is a 1.3 mil purchase and that if anything is a hindrance. Those big purchases often go awry ; rather, the 200k ones are usually the best. · 470 days ago

  • Sullivan · Dint see the race but I Tell you that his current form is disappointing and coming out of the bash ford manor, he wasn't his best self · 518 days ago
  • kaitlinefree1 · no he wasn't at all. but oh well, you have those bad days. · 518 days ago
I like this colt.. As of right now he's my favorite 2 year old. expecting a big run out of him on Sunday...
Can't wait to see the match up between him and All In Blue, but if Yes Liz run in the race to it'll be very interesting!

Debt Ceiling will be making his next start in the Sanford Stakes on July 21.
10-1 Morning line! Ramsey declaring victory prior to the race and then coming up with 3 excuses. I love the fact this horse is getting zero respect as he is yet to be favored in any of his starts to date. Thanks to Lynn Ashby for doing a fantastic job breaking him. Super job by Jerry Robb getting him ready and smart ride by the "cocky jockey" Eric Camacho.

  • Floridaf · I couldn't believe the ML on your talented colt, Mr. O'Donohue, but it sure felt good to cash in on him. Best of luck with Debt Ceiling! · 538 days ago
