Older Comments about Deacon Blues...

After missing all of the 2012 season with a tendon injury, Deacon Blues sustained another injury on the gallops at Newmarket on Saturday morning and has now been officially retired by owners Jan and Peter Hopper. Deacon Blues ended 2011 by winning the British Champions Sprint on the champions day card at Ascot and was crowned co-champion sprinter in Europe. After missing all of 2012, trainer James Fanshawe was hoping to have Deacon Blues ready for either the G1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Ascot or the G1 July Cup at Newmarket, but sadly it didn't work out that way for Fanshawe or Deacon Blues.
