‏@DRFGrening: Danza will not run in Belmont, per Pletcher, who said horse not doing well at moment. Going to Ocala for a break.

  • Sullivan · Wicked Strong will be further back and probably a wise guy pick... if General a Rod cleans his tub, oh my god is he perfect for the race. Distance, no issue. Style, perfect. Class, bring it on. · 121 days ago
  • travel_vic · Danza showed a lot in that troubled run and he met all the requirements of energy distribution in that Derby coming in. His only hang up was inexperience akin to Curlin in his same stage of develoement · 121 days ago
I find it funny there not running him cause he had 2 hard races 3 weeks apart? really and chromes raced what compared to danza this year

  • goblin · Pletcher is not finding it funny since the colt is losing weight, "not doing well", and has had a skin disorder. (cocoa, I'm not disagreeing with your answer.) https://twitter.com/DRFDerby · 121 days ago
  • tmallios · Very unfortunate , hope he picks it up and improves. Just shows you how brutal it could be to run back so soon into the Derby. Horses react differently, why i seriously wonder many run in all 3 races unless they absolutely have to. May not feel it now,but somewhere down the line it will catch up to them. Why i always laugh how Todd was always questioned for not running Derby Horses back in the Preakness. Except Super Saver who he had to run. · 121 days ago
on May 18, Danza worked 4F at Belmont Park on Fast Dirt training in :49.49 b finishing 27/53.
Any updates on his Preakness status? ...my gut thinks he will not run, but my head thinks he should, because he'd be in an excellent spot to finish in the top 2.

  • coyne.kaylor · As much as I would love to see Danza and California Chrome have a showdown next weekend, Danza's connections are making the right decision. · 133 days ago
  • kaitlinefree1 · i agree about this decision. Danza has a better shot with the added distance, etc. i think something has to go really wrong with Chrome for him to lose the Preakness. the Belmont will NOT be a walk in the park. however, i think it could be possible. · 133 days ago
Why are people saying he will win the Preakness? Am I the only one who noticed that when they had covered 1 3/16 , CC was over 5 lengths clear of him. So cutting back a 1/16 should only help CC. I do agree he would be a lock for 2nd though

Does anyone else think this guy will take the Preakness? Or am I on my own little island of unsound judgement?

  • travel_vic · more of the basics behind the idea. http://csep10.phys.utk.edu/astr161/lect/history/velocity.html · 134 days ago
  • travel_vic · If we say that a car is going 70 km/hour, we have not completely specified its motion, because we have not specified the direction that it is going. Thus, velocity is an example of a vector quantity. A vector generally requires more than one number to specify it; in this example we could give the magnitude of the velocity (70km/hour), a compass heading to specify the direction (say 30 degrees from North), and an number giving the vertical angle with respect to the Earth's surface (zero degrees except in chase scenes from action movies!). The adjacent figure shows a typical coordinate system for specifying a vector in terms of a length r and two angles, theta and phi. · 134 days ago
There was no catching California Chrome, but for the trouble Danza got in I think he ran a good race. I think he'll keep getting better with more experience.

  • rafirox · I think DwF is a very solid colt. I have bet him (win and lose) on numerous occasions and used him underneath in my trifecta. He loves the synthetics (great record) and won the G1 Bluegrass Stakes over it. I think he has a future over the grass and synthetics. He is a very nice colt. Danza is a phenomenal colt, no doubt. He ran a very strong race and is one of two (him and California Chrome, as posted in my pre-race analysis) I used on top. I also bet him across the board, and he actually brought me above even (bet my w/p/s in 1-2-3 ratio) on that bet, to go along with the dutch on California Chrome (as posted in analysis) and the trifecta (as posted in analysis). In short, I was high on Danza going into the race and high on him coming out. The lack of seasoning probably affected him to an extent. He loves two turns and he will be a major factor in the races later this year. As for my top 3 year olds. California Chrome, Danza and Ride on Curlin are 1-2-3 active horses. These were my top three heading into the race (as posted) and I'm proud to say, they are my top three coming out. Of course, I think Top Billing is phenomenal, but my top three was based on active horses (TB is injured). · 137 days ago
  • Ruffianlover · Danza did run a nice race. There are some really quality fillies and colts this year- I love it! Cant wait to see how the injured ones come back too to ad to the current talent · 137 days ago
Got bounced around pretty good today but showed a lot of heart to only get beat three lengths in only his fifth start. you will hear a lot more from this guy.
  • rafirox · Good colt who ran a very good race (as I and many expected). Lack of seasoning and simply not being as good as Chrome was the difference. He will be a force in the Belmont and Summer, I'll tell you. Very nice colt. I'm a fan. · 138 days ago
  • Striped mentality · My favorite of the top 3. CC is a very talented colt, and was much the best today. But I just like Danza better he has a lot of up side. · 138 days ago
Good post for Danza. Haven't arranged my picks, but so far I Like California Chrome, Danza, Dance With Fate, and Medal Count.
apparently he is the major buzz horse at churchill right now. he has been very impressive, as well as intense holiday. can't wait until all of the contenders are there.
Per DRF Welsch- Danza and Vinceremos went out in a pair- Danza went well, easily got the best of Vinceremos, 1/2 :49.07 out 1:12.26 up 1:16.04.
  • SSilence86 · *note- Vinceremos did fight back vs. Danza in gallop out remaining just a length back after 5/8's in 1:02.46, decision pending on Derby status · 144 days ago
This Deby fireld is the best collection of well bred horses I haver ever seen in a Kentucky Derby. Any of these horses can win this years Derby. It doesn't matter if the horse ran on turf, poly, or it came from California.Sit back and enjoy,
Jersey Joe Bravo all the way on DANZA!
This one is just taking up space in the starting gate and is set to bounce in his next start, not for my money nor in the exoctic's.

"CALIFORNIA CHROME".. GERMAN... NON PENSA LASCIARE PASSOP A TÉ..NEANCHE À CONSTITUTION.. 2º WILDCAT RED... "NEW TRAINING PALOS"...
I think Chitu has a better chance than Danza, but derby day will tell
I THINK IF THEY DECIDE TO RUN HIM HE WILL BE THE ONE TO BEAT..
This guy just may be my wise guy pick. He came out of no where and seems to be training very well. Looked great on the track this morning... https://twitter.com/moonwalker24/status/457553146361823233/photo/1
