Older Comments about Dangerous Midge...

I am looking sooooooooooo forward to a much deeper and stronger renewal of the BC Turf this year than we saw in 2010. Our 2010 BC Turf 1st and 2nd place finishers, Dangerous Midge and Champ Pegasus, went to Dubai back and March to run in the G1 Sheema Classic. Where Champ Pegasus finished 12th of 14, and BC Turf winner, Dangerous Midge, promptly finished dead last of 14. Since that time, Dangerous Midge returned to Newbury for the G3 Arc Trial again. A race he won in 2010. This year, Dangerous Midge finished 7th of 8 in the Arc Trial, beaten some 18+ length's. Today, trainer Brian Meehan dropped Dangerous Midge down to conditions stakes level at York against the likes of Jet Away, Treasury Devil, Enak, and LeDrakkar. In a conditions stakes race no less, Dangerous Midge finished last of 6. Beaten some 23+ length's. That's certainly not the kind of performances you expect to see out of a former BC Turf winner in a G3 and conditions stakes event. I think it goes a long way of showing what a very weak renewal the 2010 BC Turf really was. JMO.
