Glad to see "Pinky" back on the workout tab, including 2 bullets at Saratoga!
Awesome win in the 5th race on Oaks Day at Churchill Downs today. What a gorgeous horse...I am definitely going to have to keep up with this Kentucky girl!!
Congrats!! Great win at Churchill!
Racing today in the 5th @ Gulfstream -- a 1 1/16th AOC. Has been close many times, I hope she gets her win today.

WHY was she close to the lead??? I've never seen such a mistake. Honestly, what were the connections thinking?

  • zatt · I suspect the slow first quarter had something to do with it. · 1736 days ago
  • ajump08 · a sub :24 first quarter is actually quick going one mile at Gulfstream because there is no run up. Examples: Hal's Hope Stakes 24.21, Holy Bull Stakes 23.96, Sabin Strakes 24.65. The 23.92 run in the Davona Dale beats all of those. · 1736 days ago
Her dam was unplaced in three starts, but is a half-sister to two stakes winners and the second dam Dhaka was a stakes winner.
Impressive all around..eagerly waiting for the return.
She looks ultra impressive, but I've seen horses as of recently who can run a final eighth in 12 and chage while being geared down. She ran her final furlong in 13 in her last. CD was a tiring track during it's fall meet. But still, I wonder if her impressive widening margin wasn't partially due to her competition backing up some.

  • zatt · She's a bit on the slight side, but I have no worries about her talent ... she is my top pick for the Oaks. · 1783 days ago
  • LDP · I don't doubt she's talented. I just know other horses who could make that final eighth look just as easy going in 12 seconds. The track could've been the reason for that, but i'll watch and wait with her. · 1783 days ago
What an outstanding win for this Tapit filly -coasted home
  • ruby · Agree. That was a big race on a day that not much closed. Assume the Golden Rod will be next. · 1855 days ago
