Bout with colic yesterday--scratch from Belmont Derby...doing well this morning report connections.
  • Eventer1999 · Colic is a terrible thing... Hopefully he will be okay. Last summer my favorite Welsh pony had to be put down after a bad case of colic. · 87 days ago
Per Santa Anita: "Blue Grass Stakes winner Dance With Fate worked six furlongs under Jose Aragon on Santa Anita’s main track Saturday in a bullet 1:11 flat in preparation for the Grade I, $1.25 million Belmont Derby Invitational at 1 ¼ miles on turf July 5. 'It was a little quicker than I was looking for,' trainer Peter Eurton said, 'but I needed to go quicker rather than slower. He’s still got two weeks (before the race).'"
on June 21, Dance With Fate worked 6F at Santa Anita on Fast Dirt in 1:11.00 h finishing 1/11.
What is this one up to? Is he going to point to del mar races? Pacific classic maybe?

  • travel_vic · JUST about ANY Horse meets pace scenarios that relegate them to also rans. Pacific Classic was one that Cigar found overwelming...There are loads of examples....LOADS of them...that is if you know how to find them · 102 days ago
on June 7, Dance With Fate worked 5F at Santa Anita on Fast Dirt in 1:02.00 h finishing 19/29.
Santa Anita Notes: "Blue Grass Stakes winner Dance With Fate, set for the Belmont Derby at 1 ¼ miles on grass July 5, worked four furlongs on turf in 52.40 for Peter Eurton."
  • rafirox · Right where he belongs TURF and SYNTHETIC. Love this move, now he can point to grass races if this goes well, or point to the Pacific Classic if it does not. The Del Mar summer meet is all his! Love this guy. · 121 days ago
From Santa Anita: "Trainer Peter Eurton reports Blue Grass Stakes winner Dance With Fate, a troubled sixth in the Kentucky Derby, is a candidate for the Belmont Derby at 1 ¼ miles on turf July 5."
  • amdaman · He didn't disgrace himself in the KD. I think he deserves a shot at the Belmont. He seems to belong. · 122 days ago
Dance With Fate was not mentioned in the article that talks about Danza pulling out of the Belmont even though his rainer tweeted he will run. What is the update on him?
  • goblin · Looks as though he is being pointed to the Belmont Derby. https://twitter.com/DRFInsidePost · 131 days ago
His next start will be in the Belmont Derby July 5th. Per Eurton's twitter.

  • Sullivan · Definitely had a great time, huge thanks Tom. Nice to meet you, Jenna, as well. · 141 days ago
  • tmallios · No not the same at all. Regardless if one thinks that older horses fit against each other, their races are slotted and you enter. With a 3 yo it is different, there are much better and logical opportunities to race. You act as though it is a slam dunk that he will run 2nd. Without knowing how many horses or who will be in the race, you are giving him 2nd place money. Let me ask you a question, would you guarantee that placing and earnings for the owner. If you did,i am sure they would oblige you and enter the horse. Who would not want a guaranteed 300K. · 141 days ago
Tjis is my Derby pick next to Cal Chrome
The point is; He handled the dirt just fine.
I liked Candy Boy at first until I saw his Churchill workout. It wasn't very impressive. Once I got wind of the :47 4f work from Dance With Fate (on dirt), I immediately made the switch. I think the question about him on dirt was answered with that workout. This horse is gonna be a monster in the derby. I hope he wins with some nice juicy odds.

  • Mary Z. · Really like him, too. Agree with Lisa about how gorgeous he is. Time to concentrate on these Derby boys. Time has flown by this Spring. i may go best of West, Best of East, Best of Central, and most gorgeous :) · 154 days ago
  • Exterminator · I'll go with my personal favorites, Chrome, ROC, Samraat, and Hoppy · 154 days ago
The more I analyze this derby, the more I like him.
This colt's work, in a word: WOW. 47 flat and he looked so effortless. Heard on TVG the equine scouter that found this horse says he knows how to turn it on at the 1/8 pole. Moves in to my current top 5 with California Chrome (duh) Danza, Wicked Strong, and Vicar's In Trouble. Now just waiting for the draw.
on April 26, Dance With Fate worked 4F at Santa Anita on Fast Dirt in :47.00 h finishing 2/62.

stripped i wrote a rebuttal regarding mis speaking about pletcher training this horse and said being that constitution is out dance may run but should not. as far as pletcher hate, please. running a quarter of the field or around is a joke. he got lucky with arguably his worst respected horses last week and now hes a genius. lol
