  • New York Vinnie · cocoa2 - many will never forget Landaluce. Me included. She was a sweet, black coated two year old filly out of Seattle Slew that captivated the west, having won five races by almost 50 lengths. She won her first race in 1:08 then came back a week later and won a Grade 1 race by 21 lengths in 1:08:1. Her last three races as a two year included race run in 1:21, 1:35 and 1:41. Uncle Mo, on the other hand, ran a 1:34.6 and and 1:42 in a mile and a mile and a sixteenth, and was considered the second coming of Spectacular Bid and Seattle Slew. Landaluce will never be forgotten. · 112 days ago ·

  • Woodbine · mshutty: The bulky field makes it seem better, but how many of these horses belong in BC Turf? Admittedly, the big money and the G1 bring quite an eclectic bunch out of the woodwork. The International has done wonders for the Stockholm Invitational! · 224 days ago ·

She is the only horse ever to win three Breeders' Cup races of any kind. In three months she will no doubt be favored to win an almost unbelievable fourth consecutive BC Mile. She races against males more often than against her own gender. As if we needed any more proof of the greatness of Goldikova...Read More

Very tough mare with little current attention paid to her.
  • protagonist · I agree with you Larry, Dahlia was awsome back in the 70's , she even beat the boys . Just as these newcomers talk about Zenyatta, back then there were fantastic fillies and Dahlia was one of them. I think I hear Striesand warming up with "The Way We Were". looking back brings back some fond memories! · 249 days ago ·

  • protagonist · Yes Larry, Dahlia was awsome in her day( 70's) She even took on the boys and defeated them as well. Just as Zenyatta has done recently. Thinking of her Dahlia brings back some fond memories,of all of the great horses and horsemen that we had around back then. · 249 days ago ·
