If any one is interested, his saddlecloth from the JCGC is up for auction on eBay. Price last time I looked was at $42 with about five or six days left in bidding

  • Buckpasser · I looked it up in Haskins book on Kelso and Pete was one of two stable ponies, Spray being the other, but he died and Pete became his constant companion along with several dogs, named Rabbit, Cracker, Cookie, Sketch, Mickey and his personal body guard who slept on his head, Charlie Potatoes. There was a yellow cat who moved into the stall with Kelso too. (Kelso by Steve Haskins p.121) · 41 days ago
  • Jay S. · That's awesome BP! Seems like I remember you mentioning Charlie Potatoes a while back. Great Story. Thanks! · 41 days ago

Will have to do a lot better than win one graded stakes race for me to call him the best dirt horse as icy said

  • icyhotboo · Actually the best race run by Cross Traffic IMO was the Metropolitan Handicap where he broke really bad, went back to 9TH, got straightened out then took the lead lead at the first quarter in 22.40. Not only was this young horse used early and hard he was also used late to lose in a photo with the pack back 3 1/2 lengths. That was a race that went in 1:34.17. Horses don't always win when running their best race, but for myself this race was impressive. The thing is this horse is just learning to run. · 343 days ago
  • tmallios1 · No argument from me Icy.As much as i loved the result that day.He ran a hole in the wind. That race was the reason i loved him in the Whitney.Any horse that can run that fast for a mile, should be able to carry his or her speed. · 343 days ago
Like him a lot already, I was looking at a picture which I believe to be Unbridled's song's woodward http://www.drf.com/sites/default/files/u39/Unbridleds%20Song17.jpg Amazing the difference, how long did it take unbridled's song to completely gray out? sorry if this has been asked before.. but would be interesting to see how cross traffic may look in a few years

to skip the Woodward & will instead be pointed to the Jockey Club Gold Cup. Pletcher feels its a better way to get to the Classic.

Gold Mark has really neat Silks. I like the head of the Thoroughbred on the front.

Admittedly, I was sort of mad at him when he lost the Met Mile (I had him bet), but he made up for it in the Whitney Handicap. While I did not bet it, I had him in my Fantasy Capping leauge for the win. As for all of this hoopla about him being the favorite for the Classic: bullshit, in my opinion. Really nice colt. G1 animal without a doubt.

  • LAZMANNICK · Sorry if it seemed like I was taking a shot at you, Kait. I really like CT myself. I just think that he still has a lot to prove and a relatively short time span to prove it. I still think what he has done to this point in his career and being unraced until this year is amazing. Hoping he improves and hoping they can get him to relax for that all important first half mile. · 379 days ago
  • kaitlinefree1 · you weren't at all Laz. but yeah he still does have stuff to prove. the Woodward will give us a little more clear insight. · 379 days ago
