What the Nation is saying about Creative Cause...

Is Hansen or Creative Cause good enough to be considered one of the best gray thoroughbreds? If so, they would have to be better than some of the greatest horses of all time. Read More

What do y'all think of my 2012 Kentucky Derby horse's conformation? http://www.bloodhorse.com/stallion-register/stallions/165797/creative-cause

  • Dressage3295 · Seems to be no major faults. However, it is a picture and there are tricks used to present the horse in the best light possible, so it would be impossible to know just how proper/bad his confirmation truely is. With that being said, it appears to be that his confirmation is about average. Not the best I've seen, but not the worst either. Nothing flashy about him apart from his coloring · 258 days ago ·

  • Mary Z. · Он будет охватывать Proud Spelland her dam Pacific Spell, El Fasto(dam of Believe You Can), No Such Word, Don't Trick Her(dam of Check The Label and Include Me Out). I don't know the reason why this 4 year old daddy to be retired. We used to get frequent updates about Creative Cause from "Irishbrave" and if she's reading this, I would appreciate more information as to why he retired so young, if she knows. Maybe it was always the plan to retire him at age three. · 422 days ago ·

I) winner Believe You Can; grade I winner No Such Word; and our 11-year-old mare Don't Trick Her, who has already produced two U.S. grade I winners, just to name a few" - Read more on BloodHorse.com: http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/73575/gi-winner-creative-cause-retired-to-airdrie#ixzz2Hhu02JCf

Does anyone know what mares he will breed to? I heard he will be breeding to belive you can's dam.
Some pictures of him at Airdrie Stud. You should be able to find the on Airdrie's Facebook page.

  • Cocoa2 · Saw a two page ad in Bloodhorse, breeders cup week. I guess they expect something of him. He had everything I thought but the ability to close or have any other substantial speed boost. Would've liked to see him as a front runner. · 520 days ago ·

  • CreativeCause · His trainer even said that he hated closeing. But what you say is true, he was not a closer. · 520 days ago ·

  • notobsessed · I don't know how we can blame Creative Cause's owners when we don't even know the reason he is retired...maybe it was similar to Boys of Tusconova (sp?), they said he just didn't want to train anymore · 544 days ago ·

My GOD, it has been sooooooooooooo long.. Why? He is a good horse or he would not have run third in the Preakness. I hope we hear more of him soon..

  • Dressage3295 · no sally, that was trying to bring the attention away from CC to your star. I fully admit I stopped being a fan of UR a long time ago. I think he's a decent horse, but not the horse everyone says. I give him his due of winning the Belmont, but condemn his terrible time as I would any horse, as I have said before. Discussion over, I've made my point (yet again) and I'm not saying anything else of the matter on this thread. Now, back to CC. Who knows why they retired him, but I agree it was probably for the money. All the wealth is in the breeding and the sales today. Run a horse in a few graded races, if he wins them or places decently and has a good pedigree, retire him (or her), breed them to decent horse, and BAM! You're rollin' in dough. CC made half a million in racing, but could make well over that in stud fees. Too bad, really wish they would have kept him in racing. He could have come back as a top horse. · 549 days ago ·

  • kay.robinett · I was hoping against hope they were just giving him a long rest with plans to bring him back as a 4YO. He would have been outstanding if they had done so. Really sad to hear of this one's retirement. · 549 days ago ·
