Who will Castellano ride now?
Constitution off the Derby trail with a hairline fracture. Uncle Sigh now in the top 20.

  • tmallios · Ex funny that you mention Social Inclusion. I figured he had no shot of getting in. In looking at the race with him in it. He is now my 2nd choice behind Chrome. Like i said, his race in the Wood running into that strong headwind ,comes up about 5 lengths better than it looks. That puts him into my Derby profile. In reggards to pace. He is by far the Speed of the Speed. · 896 days ago
Constitution is OUT of the Derby due to a hairline fracture of the right front cannon bone. He had a work on Sunday, breezing a half in :50 3/5, and it was discovered he was off his right foreleg Monday. Per WinStar.

  • rhg1217 · Hope he doesn't go too crazy with him on the front end - if chitu can sit and save something for the stretch, he may be dangerous - this guy has a lot of natural speed · 896 days ago
on April 13, Constitution worked 4F at Palm Meadows on Fast Dirt in :50.60 b finishing 17/17.
He got the perfect trip inside and the rail wide open to come home. Velasquez should have never let that happen Oh yeah he does ride for Pletcher also.Constitution is a good horse but I won't be backing him if he goes at Churchill.

  • travel_vic · Of course....but then an iconoclastic, innovative understanding of dogmatically opinionated static rules always rings a bell with those incapable of lateral thinking. · 911 days ago
  • travel_vic · All boils down to evaluating groups of past perfromances, the vaious efforts horse made versus the paces of races that they came up against. DO not look at trainer, owner, workouts, rider. Only surface distance, weather are the varibles veiwed OUTSIDE of the reactive performances of entry 1 2 3 etc. DO not even look at the names as it biases opinion. · 910 days ago
he just gets better n better look out boys he will be one tough contender
He got a perfect trip ??? What race were you watching ???? I haven't seen a better 3 year old yet for sure.
Did anyone hear of any preliminary Beyers for Constitution or others at Gulfstream? I saw they released figures for Fair Grounds.

I always get caught up in these lightly raced immature types who still have enough talent to win the big Derby preps. I was operating under the logic for awhile that if they still have alot to learn and still win a big prep they could be dangerous in the Derby. Bandini, Dialed In, Gemologist, Midnight Interlude are some recent ones that come to mind. Unfortunately it took me awhile to learn that the Derby isn't the time for learning and these talented lightly raced immature types always flop. As much as I like Constitution he reminds me too much of these types and I am not going to make the same mistakes again.
This horse better start getting some respect. He is developing at an incredible pace. I expected him to do well in the FL derby, perhaps place or show, but the fact that he won should show he is a SERIOUS contender to win the Derby. On a side note, Cairo Prince looked terrible. Not only may he not even qualify for the derby, i don't think he has a chance of even showing.
Good looking win!
  • Sullivan · Uncomfortable in the going and still pulled it off... what was wrong with the rail? Everyone was running in the 3-4 path · 914 days ago
I dont like any of the top 4 finishers of either derby prep today in la or fl to win the derby.
I had a dream that this one won the Florida Derby when Cairo Prince ran disappointingly out of the money, and then Constitution went on to win the Derby and Preakness but fade in the Belmont. The first part of my dream came true, so put down your early derby bets people! Haha
  • Exterminator · lol one night I dreamed that Honor Code and some random jockey teamed up to break out of his stall, fly to Louisville, and crash the Derby party. · 914 days ago
  • kycale · I would be super okay with that · 914 days ago
From our pals @ TimeFormUS >> Constitution is unbeaten in two career tries, earning TFUS speed figures (98 and 97) that are a notch below the top contenders. He earned the latter figure when setting a slow pace in his allowance win on the speed-favoring track in his allowance win on Fountain of Youth day. Obviously highly regarded by his connections, this son of Tapit, out of a Distorted Humor half-sister to the G1 (sprint) winner Emcee, is eligible to improve. But we would reserve him for use underneath. << Looks like a key on top :D
Winstar is on a America Naming Rampage. Revolutionary, Constitution, Marine haha
Next start will be in Florida Derby, per Todd Pletcher.
