  • tmallios · Ex funny that you mention Social Inclusion. I figured he had no shot of getting in. In looking at the race with him in it. He is now my 2nd choice behind Chrome. Like i said, his race in the Wood running into that strong headwind ,comes up about 5 lengths better than it looks. That puts him into my Derby profile. In reggards to pace. He is by far the Speed of the Speed. · 17 hours ago ·
Constitution is OUT of the Derby due to a hairline fracture of the right front cannon bone. He had a work on Sunday, breezing a half in :50 3/5, and it was discovered he was off his right foreleg Monday. Per WinStar.

  • rhg1217 · Hope he doesn't go too crazy with him on the front end - if chitu can sit and save something for the stretch, he may be dangerous - this guy has a lot of natural speed · 17 hours ago ·

  • johnsnare · wiked Strong has a lot of distance in his pedigree. Looks like the 2014 derby will have a lot of front end runners, and a few with distance porblems. a horse that is comfortable coming off the pace, should have a distinct advantage. laying off the pace should have · 9 days ago ·
  • thepuresilverband@yahoo.com · Wicked Strong with breed Chrismatic of trainer Wayne Lukas who had won the Derby and 2nd with Chrismatic's stable mate "cat Theif" How many trainers have won 1st & 2nd in the kentucky Derby. (Baffert must be in envy). Later on Breeders Cup 3 Mill Classic, I bet a $5 Bet on Cat Theif & BudRoyal which got me over $3,000! Just a $2 exacta was over $1,000!! I like the breeding and both Chrismatic & Cat Theif had the fastest both almost record speed Beyers! Dont Discount Wicked Strong! · 1 day ago ·

I was going to bet the good turfer Hitchcock when he came to Hollywood one Summer but I was tipped by a vet that he was a terrible shipper and stayed off him to my relief as he demonstrated that to be true right out there on the course acting up all the way to the gate. · 1 day ago ·

  • AllenJoyner · john.karczewski: Secretariat lost 4 races, including to Onion at equal weights and was absolutely destroyed by Prove Out by 5 1/2 lengths while carrying SEVEN POUNDS LESS WEIGHT! (Both trained by the great Allen Jerkens). Sec might have been the best ever for the the 5 week span of the Triple Crown, I agree with that, but was beatable at times other than that. I voted him an 8 and Man'O War a 10 because I believe their positions should be reversed, which the were. I believe that the best way to rate all the greats is to see how many other great horses they beat over their career while spotting weight. The level of the competition. If that is the criteria, then Kelso is the greatest ever for no other horse beat as many great/very good horses as the 5 time HOTY did while spotting gobs of weight and setting NINE track records including a World Record that still stands to this day. Check out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelso_(horse) As far as rating Wicked Strong a "10", that was in the 3 yr old list, not best of all time. So that criticism is foolish. Look at some of the names in the best of all time and you have to chuckle. (Untapable (who) #35 · 5 days ago ·

  • geldedridgling · Good news is at least Cairo Prince will be at fair odds come Derby day. If you re-watch the race, Consitution basically rode the rail the entire trip and still only had just enough to edge out Wildcat Red?.Todd Pletcher complained about the Gulfstream speed bias after Dunkirk lost in 2009. I guess he's learned to embrace it. · 17 days ago ·
  • Davidm9999 · Given WR's trip he should have won the race. Even comfortable splits ensured Wildcat would be there at end. He was but still lost. I give Cairo a pass due to outside trip into soft pace. Not sure if he is good enough for Roses though. Gen. A Rod ran merry go race. Constitution also got favorable trip with rail run. More upside likely although that goes against the reality of Team Todd underperforming in Louisville. This prep was better than LA Derby IMO. · 14 days ago ·

He got the perfect trip inside and the rail wide open to come home. Velasquez should have never let that happen Oh yeah he does ride for Pletcher also.Constitution is a good horse but I won't be backing him if he goes at Churchill.

  • travel_vic · All boils down to evaluating groups of past perfromances, the vaious efforts horse made versus the paces of races that they came up against. DO not look at trainer, owner, workouts, rider. Only surface distance, weather are the varibles veiwed OUTSIDE of the reactive performances of entry 1 2 3 etc. DO not even look at the names as it biases opinion. · 15 days ago ·

  • tmallios1 · Pom i am far from being one of Cairos biggest supporters. But Nag is a bit much, this horse is not 100 %. I agree that he is far from at his best as the distances get longer. But this horse when right has incredible talent when right. He is fast, unlike many who are still deemed contenders and are simply plodders who get the job done.
