Commanding Curve will be pointed to the Travers Stakes while perhaps dipping back into the allowance ranks after the colt emerged from his disappointing performance in the Belmont Stakes in good shape. According to DRF

  • travel_vic · If a horse fills a void in a pace scenario, they can be king for a day. Golden Soul's day was the first Saturday in May 2013. · 64 days ago
most definitely bled during the running of the Belmont, take a look at how abnormally high his head was only 5f or so in
Nathan,as soon as Vyjack did not fire,i fired out of the track so fast. It was a Zoo there today. Was nice to say hello to Andy ,Zips and Ashley in the paddock. Thankfully Wabbajack and Bayern fired, especially when Boots sounded the alarm. PO connections had to be sad. Javier played it to cool today, she was much the best. Stayedto far back, then was to cocky on the turn. The Cali Queen either has to stay on the wrong coast or get a hypnotist to convince her she is in Cali. Her saving grace is that the Cup is in her back yard. As i said before the race,no excuses today

  • cleclair1994 · In regards to Beholder I think Stevens blew that race. She isn't a horse who can sit and make on run. She should have been off of that duel but not 8 lengths back. She has gone around lesser competition before and thats what she shouldve done today. I did like Close Hatches in the race so I'm not complaining but I think the loss falls on Stevens. · 74 days ago
Mows down Chrome
This colt is an excellent choice for second. grand son of AP Indy, and is very close blodline of Super Secretariat. The only one in the group of 18 losers in the KD, that had some gas left to come after California Chrome, and have shown to have stamina to go 1 1/4 m. and maybe will fare even better in 1 1/2.
  • ruffianlover · You could say that about Ride on Curlin too. Curlin ran a really nice Belmont, and ROC has been closest to Chrome than any other horse when Chrome was running at the end of the Preakness. Curve isn't the ONLY one who can catch up to Chrome if he doesn't have the stamina. · 77 days ago
Put in a monster workout yesterday and ready to run in the Belmont!

  • tmallios · The time has nothing to do with the work. That is not important to me. I am stating that whoever made the original statement that it was a lightning fast track is bogus in my mind. I have no idea nor do i care why they said it. I compare work by work by style not times. Go back and look at Chromes work in late April prior to the Derby. Look at his neck throughout the work,it is extended out and almost parallel to the ground the entire time.Almost as though the kid is letting him stretch out on his own. Look at the work this past saturday.Look at Chromes neck down the backside,it is alomost erect. Like Victor is trying to hold him back,he finally gives the horse his head in the stretch. If Sherman is happy with the work, that is all that matters. Nobody can evaluate if the work was fast or not except the connections after they get back to the barn and see how they react. So to the others that say it was a blazing track. What is the proof. Blazing to me would of been if horses worked 2 seconds faster than normal. · 79 days ago

on June 1, Commanding Curve worked 4F at Belmont Park on Fast Dirt in :47.38 b finishing 3/25.
May 3rd was CCurve luckiest day. He simply has no shot for 1 1/5 mile. He will tire and up to nothing This horse has one maiden win and that's all. He could get in the KD by other horses scratching and he only got close to CC, because he was eased to the point of a 95 Beyer. Compare to CC with EIGHT wins, that already won most of the horses in the Belmont, exception only of horses that have not much to show. Despite of the gang being formed to spoil the Triple Crown, CC will be the winner.
If someone writes an article about his chances in the Belmont, please name it "Trouble with the Curve"
This is the horse that worries me the most, he has been waiting for CC since the Derby. Any updates on how they have been training him?
