  • rafirox · Kait. I'd like to apologize about FLrailbird's comment yesterday. He is my friend in "real life" and is a pro. He gets annoyed at not just you, but me, and everyone else. He reminds me of travel_vic, in a way. I;d like to apologize for his comments and tell him to lighten up on you, considering you're one of my fave posters on this site :). · 29 days ago ·

This one has such a weird pattern.... Still wish they'd race him G3. That is where he can win consistently.

  • rafirox · @Cocoa. Don't you love the fit of Joel Rosario on him? As you've mentioned before, before his second to last start, he faded very fast. But, his last two he's been showing more horse in the stretch. Joel Rosario, a strength jockey, literally pushed him to the limit and the line. Joel's strength combined with CTTT's heart is a great fit. I also think CTTT might prefer the east coast? Perhaps he stays better in the cold? Just food for thought. All I know is this gelding is improving, coming off the best performance of his life. Can't wait for the Carter. Big test going seven against elite horses, but I think this one, if still imroving, can beat any sprinter in america. Can't wait for his next start. · 55 days ago ·

  • cocoa2 · Comma to the Top will thrive in the sprinter deprived northeast. I prefer Corey Nakatani on him, But Rosario is OK. I hope CTTT meets up with Mike Smith. He probably won't win the Carter, if he shows up for it, but he's working like he's ready to race. CTTT isn't the kind of horse who gets slow fractions and wins, he really just stays in front as long as he can. It will be interesting how long he'll stay away from home, Mr. Miller likes to have him under his watch · 55 days ago ·

Trainer Peter Miller said he didn’t expect Gary Barber, Roger Birnbaum, and Kevin Tsujihara’s Comma to the Top to pull out a victory in yesterday’s Grade 3 Tom Fool Handicap after he lost the lead in the stretch, but wasn’t surprised by the 5-year-old gelding’s tenacity. Read More

  • travel_vic · This one does not race very often....Ongoing injury or just a fragile sort? There is a well know physical action in all mamalian systems called Wolff's Law: Bone responds to intermittant pressure (exercise) by building up more and thicker bone...The reason the astronauts lose skeletal mass in no gravity situations, and the reason we all devlop a KNOT over the inside of the third finger of our dominant hand where we hold out pen and pencils...The more work, the stronger the skeleton IF there is enough bone there to begin with. They are going to have to bring back some of the Arabian stock soon or the breed will be doomed to more and more injury. · 77 days ago ·

  • cocoa2 · Travel_vic, Comma to the Top came out of the derby with a minor injury but seems to be completely sound now. He has strong pasterns, good hooves and straight legs. About bringing in Arabian stock, we have to be careful: not all of those Arabians are sound. I agree, though, Arabians are much better than Quarter Horses, or even Warmbloods. · 77 days ago ·

How long does he keep the blinkers after that?
WOW! Who else just saw the Tom Fool at Aqueduct?! That was absolutely amazing!!! He just raced last weekend and was sent across the country to Aqueduct for the Tom Fool today! He lead the whole way, was passed by TWO horses in the stretch and CAME BACK TO WIN! Unbelievable! Simply unbelievable!
