buckpasser · There needs to be a fund established from a percentage of the breeding fees to provide a decent retirement for the race horses. One would be shocked at the horses that end up in the auction ring. Top priced yearlings and horses that have won decent stakes races. This is one of the main reasons why horse racing is not popular because of stories like this and others. · 134 days ago ·

megan.gaynes · The auction was in Chino, CA and my organization was able to rescue both Clubhouse Rules and Crown Dragon -- they are both at the vet hospital tonight, to be thoroughly checked over in the morning. Clubhouse does not appear to have been bred, but I will ask the vets their thoughts in the AM! If anyone can help with her vet costs (vaccinations, teeth, poss pregnancy check) as well as help with the longer term rehabbing expenses of food and feet care, donations can either be called direct into the hospital (during reg business hours) at (805) 386-7151 or through our PayPal auctionhorsesrescue@gmail.com. Clubhouse Rules

Donated to get this horse out of auction--breeder, owners and trainers need to find a way to keep their former stock safe. There needs to be legislation t forge a safe path for the horses that make so much money for people and the state.
