humphrey · 10 furlongs may be "the wall" for this one and if there is any problem with the distance the Irish Miss on the rail and other big filly will expose it. Depends on the pace however as both of theseave to come from further out of it than she does. · 638 days ago ·

Beating America's 2009 JOKE OF THE YEAR!! Please Jess Jackson. Send this filly to the Breeders Cup Classic, and let's see really how far back in the field she can finish against real G1 horses. As I've said before, and I say again. She beat an allowance level turf filly by 2 lengths, interfering with her at that, in Queen Martha in the Lady's Secret Allowance race. LOL. Last year as a 3yo filly she beat the best males and females of her age group, and she stepped up to beat a solid group of older males in the Woodward. In 2010 her connections have taken their time trying to get her back to top form but she just does not have the same explosiveness. She is still good but is not competing at the same high level that won her a much deserved Horse of the Year Title in 2009. · 635 days ago ·

ThaSpa · Wow you Zenyatta fans sure are obsessed with Rachel. Pretty funny actually. For a horse you think is so normal you sure spend alot of time trying to bring her down. She's clearly not the same mare anymore but it's hilarious that the Z fans are more obsessed with Rachel than Rachel's own fans. I'll give Zenyatta the Classic last year. That's one of eighteen wins. For everyone trying to diminish Rachel's unparalleled 3 year old campaign, please tell me who Zenyatta has beaten outside of her one real race? zenyatta02 · ThaSpa, you're a RA fan I can tell. I'm not going to lie, RA was outstanding last year and made HOY a close call. In my opinion that was the wrong call, but it's over with so forget about it. Maybe we should just exchange a few words in the first sentences of your post to describe you. I see you on Zenyatta's page quite often, always taking a dig on the undefeated champ. You're not trying to bring down a normal horse though; Zen is far from normal, so good luck making her look bad, it won't work. You can't take a dig on the Z fans here because you're a Rachel fan and post on Zen's page more often than I do! I think that just about sums it up. Good day :) · 630 days ago ·

railbird1 · It is glaringly apparent to me the connections of Rachel Alexandra are afraid of Zenyatta. Why else would they dodge Zenyatta in the BC Classic? The reason is obvious. A loss to Zenyatta would have crushed their hopes for Horse of the year. Then to dodge her again in the Apple Blossom when the purse would have been increased to 5 Million speaks volumes. Even a 2nd place finish in a 5 Million dollar race is worth 1 Million. Would any other owner turn down 1 Million for a 2nd place finish? The only reason for this is Jess Jackson must feel 1 million dollars is not worth the tarnish to Rachels reputation by ending the debate and proving Zenyatta is the better horse. · 630 days ago ·

ThaSpa · I love the Horse of the Year was afraid of Zenyatta argument. Why would Rachel "dodge" Zenyatta in the Classic? Let's see, she had raced EIGHT times last year to that point in 6 different states and had run three in a row against males that accounted for 11 Grade 1 victories. To that point last year Zenyatta had run 4 times in ONE state against ZERO males & against winners of 3 Grade 1 races. All facts, look them up yourself if you don't believe me. Zenyatta had run in half the races, against weaker competition, against no males & her connections were petrified to make her leave home. Just in the BC Classic alone, one race, Zen beat almost all the horses that RA beat. And yes, it's plain as day that RA's owners are terrified of their "wonder filly" being beaten by Zen. Zen's owners aren't petrified to make her leave home. They were just watching out for her health, a responsible decision. · 626 days ago ·

gardenesque1 · '09 Horse of the Year had nothing to do with Rachel being better than Zenyatta. Rachel deserved the award because she had the best overall campaign. In reality, Zenyatta is superior to Rachel...especially in 2010. Jess Jackson realized that he had no shot against Zenyatta in the Apple Blossom after Rachel lost her 2010 opener to inferior competition, and the reigning HOY is still struggling to rediscover her '09 brilliance.
