  • icyhotboo · EP Taylor , I didn't mean to give the impression he was already as good as Victory Gallop or any other horse for that matter. I meant he the "potential" to be very good, nothing more. Also I would wager on him against other top 3yos, but not older horses at this time as Palace Malice and Will Take Charge are very good older horses and a bit much for a 3yo in the near future. Then again if they keep Stevens and PM doesn't run I would bet him against any of the remaining horses including WTC. If saez comes back I believe he'll keep him closer to the pace as he did when he was on him and we'll see a much improved horse. As for Bluebonnet's and who gave me Raymond Benoit's name as the announcer I thought it was you. I guess not. The trouble with Canada is there are to many Canadians. Hard to keep track of all of you. I always enjoyed myself when up there. I never traveled outside of Ontario province though. The only problem I had was when they wanted to ignore you, knowing I was American they just start speaking French. · 8 days ago ·

  • EP Taylor · The last part of your comment is too funny. If you want a great experience I highly recommend Canada's East coast. Newfoundland especially. Beautiful part of the Country as is the West coast in British Columbia. As for Tonalist' potential. I agree. · 7 days ago ·

  • thepuresilverband@yahoo.com · Wicked Strong with breed Chrismatic of trainer Wayne Lukas who had won the Derby and 2nd with Chrismatic's stable mate "cat Theif" How many trainers have won 1st & 2nd in the kentucky Derby. (Baffert must be in envy). Later on Breeders Cup 3 Mill Classic, I bet a $5 Bet on Cat Theif & BudRoyal which got me over $3,000! Just a $2 exacta was over $1,000!! I like the breeding and both Chrismatic & Cat Theif had the fastest both almost record speed Beyers! Dont Discount Wicked Strong! · 85 days ago ·

Wicked Strong threw his hat into the Kentucky Derby 2014 ring with a sharp late running victory in the Wood Memorial. • Toasting · Great article, Matt. As far as the HOF goes, Curlin is a lock, and Asmussen is a near-lock. That leaves the eight others essentially vying for two spots. Antley's talent isn't in question, but like fellow nominee Garrett Gomez, his off-track demons may weigh heavy on the minds of voters. On ability, he's a Hall of Famer, but I'm not sure the voters will shut out his habits away from the track. · 120 days ago ·

  • buds · I really dont see the logic in comparing horses from different seasons. If the BEST horse in a particular year wins 3 Graded stakes, (or whatever BCC, derby, etc) and thats beter than everyone else then that horse is the BEST then they earned it, period. If in another year a horse has 6 Graded wins and that is the BEST, then that horse deserves HOY, period. Wise Dan should be hands down, HOY. Followed closely by Little Mike and Royal Delta. • ruffian75 · Good article, Bryan. A question that came to mind: There are only five to have won the Ky Derby after having ran in the Juvenile. If I recall, they don't seem to do much after that. Seems Street Sense took a back seat to Curlin, thereafter. I guess Alysheba would be the exception to this rule, but I would think that, for the most part, that if they pursue this road to the Derby, it might not go much further? · 606 days ago ·

  • kentuckyderbypost · Ruffian75 - Fair point. Sea Hero raced as a 4 yr old but his best performance was a win in the Travers also at age 3. KY Derby was Mine That Bird’s last win, 0 for 9 after. Street Sense was retired after his 3-yr-old season but not before winning the Jim Dandy and Travers. Alysheba is the exception, raced at age 4 and won the BC Classic along with 5 other Grade 1 races. · 606 days ago ·
