He's been working at Santa Anita!
Champ Pegasus, second in the 2010 breeders’ Cup Turf, is back working out in preparation for his return to the races. “He’s had four or five breezes,” trainer Richard Mandella said. “We haven’t let him do anything real fancy yet, but he’s doing great. He just had a lot of little issues, but nothing serious. We’re hoping he’s got a chance to come back like he was.”
Champ Pegasus, winner of the 2010 Clement Hirsch, worked five furlongs on Santa Anita’s main track Friday in 1:00.40 for Richard Mandella.
Jimmy Creed, second to the promising Fed Biz in the El Cajon Stakes at Del Mar, is set to take on older rivals including Eclipse Award sprint king Amazombie in the Grade I Santa Anita Sprint Championship on Oct. 6. Read More
