on March 13, Casiguapo worked 4F at Calder on Fast Dirt in :48.60 b finishing 1/12.
First start of the year. He probably wasn't fully cranked and wants more than 3/4 of a mile.
Overrated big time, he got crushed.

4 different tracks, 4 times in the money. This guy is one of the more dependable 2 year olds out there. He may not have won today, but I'd rather have constantly dependable then early freak speed. Soon he'll get his big win, I can feel it. I imagine he will be put up for the rest of the year though.

  • Sullivan · They're all pretty nice, I just love the darker colors, like a deep, nice sorrel or dark bay. Throw in dapples too and it doesn't get better! · 688 days ago
on November 9, Casiguapo worked 5F at Calder on Sloppy Dirt in 1:02.40 b finishing 6/10.
on October 25, Casiguapo worked 4F at Calder on Fast Dirt in :49.40 b finishing 3/13.
4th isnt terrible, no one was beating the 1/2 finishers. He is still my favorite 2 year old colt, while I don't think distance will hurt hum , I'd love to see him in the BC.

Stupid. I just realized I am going to have to miss most of the races tomorrow. I made such a big deal about having last week clear and it was worrh it. . but now I have a crap load piled up fpr tomorrow -_- Good thing I have here, and a friend at the track to give me the results so I dont have to wait anxiously for the results.

Ok, so I know I am biased in his favor - but some one please explain to me how on earth this one is the long shot in the field, behind both Grand Arrival

  • sosotricksy · I am going to hold off on final judgement for Honor code till I see him on dry ground- yes his debut was impressive, but I think the slop helped propel him. · 740 days ago
  • incognito · Soso the answer is simple. Becuase of his connections, his pedigree , his price and where he was bred. Not becuase of his works or PP. I have been following this horse for a while and I think we havent see the best out of him yet. · 740 days ago
ick. I don't like the 1 slot for my boy - I think he has enough early speed, I think he can manage. Casiguapo/Havana/Honor Code.

  • incognito · I saw the work. It was the most impressive work today at Belmont by far. The ex-rider was sitting on him. They way I saw him today on a dry track he can be the horse to beat. · 744 days ago
  • Sullivan · He looked good! Was very impressive! Shug sent out a grey horse who looked swell but I agree, this was the best. · 743 days ago

This is one of the best 2yr old so far. Seems like he will get better with more distance.

  • sosotricksy · ehas shown massive improvement. HIs unknown connections were willing to move their horse from calder to a very prestiiegous saratoga meet - which means they think a LOT of him. His work out times have been very impressive- and no, work times are not everything .. but they do help. Nothing was going his way in the Hopeful, and he still managed to get second, he didn't get the front position he wanted (Showed he can rate) had to go wide at the turn, didn't like the slop & still did well . · 767 days ago
  • sosotricksy · *He has · 767 days ago
yes, yes, YES! I was hoping they'd do something bold like enter him into the hopeful!

Bred by the University of Kentucky, Buddha makes an interesting broodmare sire. I have my eye on this one
Fantastic work out this morning from the gate
Seeing as picking juveniles this early is the tend right now, I will post my juvies to watch. #1 Casiguapo, Gave a strong 3rd place preformance in the Frank Gomez. He also has been posting some very nice work out times at Calder I think he'll do much better his next time out. #2 Monopolist. Hasn't posted a work yet, and I don't have any idea when he will start. I love the Giants Causeway x Empire Maker cross however, and I do expect good things. #3 Kobe's Back. I liked the fact that this colt seemed to have absolutely nothing undercontrol in his first race and yet still pulled off the win. He showed he has a lot of promise, and if he say stay that good and mature at the same time he could be very dangerous. #4 All in Blue. Impressive first time starter, great connections. Unlike some of my favorites so far, this one has the backing to help push him along I expect we'll see a lot more of this guy. #5 Bashart. Good thrid place effort in his last race on turf, Seems to have a solid front running style that I think could translate well to the dirt. ... And then the Filly's- WHich is easy because there are only 2 that have really caught my eye. #1 Ari the adventurer #2 Fascinating. Hasn't started yet, but again I love the breeding and have high hopes.
