  • Floridaf · You made very good points about Yara and Zo Impressive in regards to some of their previous races. Personally, I think Disposablepleasure is much better than her 4th place Davona Dale finish would suggest; just look back to her gritty win in the Demoiselle. I believe the match-up between Eden's Moon and Reneesgotzip will be the best of the weekend in the 3-yo filly division. Maybe we can get another BL/HDG rivalry going. Great analysis, Brian! · 47 days ago ·

  • BrianAppleton · Thanks Ashley! I agree with regard to Disposablepleasure. The Davona Dale was her first race of the year and I think she will benefit off that effort, but I don't think she'll get to the top two. All of these fillies are coming into the races looking really good. · 47 days ago ·

Yara went into Saturday’s $250,000 Davona Dale Stakes at Gulfstream Park unheralded after winning two of five starts in sprints, the first four at Calder last year. But the 3-year-old Florida-bred filly won a long head-to-head duel with Michael Dubb and partners’ 4-5 favorite Grace Hall in the stret...Read More

Impressive, game finish on Saturday in the Busanda. I'm going to keep my eye on this AP Indy filly.
Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin unleashed a pair of eye-catching 3-year-olds Saturday afternoon at Aqueduct Racetrack, with odds-on favorite Alpha taking the $150,000 Count Fleet by 2 ½ lengths and Captivating Lass coming on late to capture the $100,000 Busanda for fillies in a thrilling finish. Takes the Busanda over Sweet Seventeen.
Sweet Seventeen, who has never finished outside the exacta in three outings, will make her first start beyond seven furlongs when she competes at Aqueduct Racetrack on Saturday in the $100,000 Busanda for 3-year-old fillies at one mile, 70 yards.   After debuting a 1 ½-length winner on dirt at ...Read More
Disposablepleasure overcame a calamitous start, an eventful trip and a desperate late surge from Wildcat’s Smile to win Saturday’s 90th running of the Grade 2, $200,000 Demoiselle at Aqueduct Racetrack by a nose.  Stumbling as she came out of the starting gate, Disposablepleasure spotted the fi...Read More
Juveniles will kick off the HolidayFest stakes action at Aqueduct Racetrack Saturday afternoon, with a large field of fillies competing in the Grade 2, $200,000 Demoiselle. Darley Stable's Captivating Lass, a two-length maiden winner at Parx Racing on October 1, will be the lone HolidayFest representative from trainer Kiaran McLaughlin's barn as she points toward the Grade 2, $200,000 Demoiselle on Saturday.
