  • TerriZ · I witnessed Quality Road beat Dunkirk and set a track record at the Florida Derby. He bested Barbaro and Big Brown for the record at Gulfstream Park. Dunkirk had the lead and QR took it away from him; Dunkirk left a defeated horse. It was frustrating that QR's previous trainer didn't know how to manage a horse with bad feet. Whatever can be said about Dutrow, he certainly knew how to get the best from Big Brown by his selection of shoes and by letting him rest. I am sure that Pletcher will be a improvement. Quality Road is a talented, big, intelligent, and even-tempered thoroughbred; he reminds me of Big Brown. And I was lucky enough to see both of them in the FLorida Derby. · 1382 days ago ·
