Wow. Chrome won the PS in only 1.54 seconds behind Secreteriat. He beat Smarty Jones time by .75 seconds.

whenever a beam that is supposed to set is broken before it's time, an alarm goes off to tell the operator then to manually BREAK the beam when he/she visually sees the lead horse pass the sensor point. THIS takes some practice since via parallax, it is hard to know exactly the point on the track that does break the beam.

I thought it was quite cool how they thought about going to Japan. World championship season while Tonalist takes honors at home? Los Al. ALW > Breeder's Cup Classic G1 > Strub G2 > Dubai World Cup G1 > Californian G2 > Santa Anita Gold Cup G1 > Pacific Classic G1 > JCGC G1 > Japan Cup DIrt G1

The Japan Cup dirt is now called the Champions Cup. Where a bunch of G3 dirt horses try to win a race nobody there cares about. Just check out the handle and attendance between this one and the Dominant race the Japan Cup.

The only thing against Chrome is he is done shipping for the year, he has earned the right to stay in California, when PM,MM, WTC, etc come to California( & guaranteed they will come) that is the only time HOY can be decided!! BC Classic gonna be good watching!!!!

So I actually am heading to the track today; they are having hat day. Best derby hat, best westren hat, etc. etc. I got some free passes a few weeks ago and now I can FINALLY go today. It's only an 8 race card, first post at 1 (PT). Might be a little QH racing, and of course TB racing. Hopefully I don't loose money. Lol. I'm a small bettor though like 2 bucks to win and that's it. Godspeed to all the horses today and wishing them a safe trip around the oval!

Yes it was. That horse that blew them out went wire to wire in a 5 furlong event. He sprinted out the gate and got a half length lead. Going into the final (2nd) turn, he turned on the afterburners and shot off like a rocket without any urging. I was screaming so loud as I had bet him to win. He could be a really really good sprinter.

Also was a son of War Chant there bred by Stonestreet. Made a huge drop in class and still finishes a flat fourth. I had him to win also

One thing is true in life, time does heal and makes us forget unfortunate and irrelevant things. My thanks is for 2 words that made a splash approximately 40 days ago. These 2 words were so powerful, they really had the Nations attention. So powerful thatpinheads from Media Outlets such as ESPN,The Good Morning Daily Shows made it their lead story. So powerful it handcuffed a Racing Organization into changing their rules to prevent embarrasment. Those 2 words are .......>>>>>>>>>NASAL STRIPS. NASAL STRIPS,funny how con artiste Coburn not only enlightened the racing world to this phenomena, but the world itself. They have now been legal in N.Y. for almost 6 weeks. I have yet to hear a testimonial as to their importance. Who knows ,along with his naming rights of CC. Coburn might of bought stock in the Company that he was promoting on a daily basis. I guess what i am saying is that like everything else in life. Racing has its peaks and Valleys. For me i only look forward to a few things in Rcaing and maybe await 4 or 5 horses when they run. I hate to admit it,but i really do miss the Circus from the Wrong Coast. A Clown like Coburn was really good for the game to a degree. He was a big help to simpletons such as myself who just enjoy it for what it is. It is just a game,Coburn gave us an outlet. But one thing is refreshing.Until i just brought it up,NASAL STRIPS are of the past. Maybe Bloodhorse,DRF and all the other Racing Outlets will do an Anniversary edition. After all they added to the nonsense with wall to wall coverage. Par for the course.

Last three years .... 2012 ... I'll Have Another was a monster. I thought he was 2nd best in the Derby, but he proved he was the best in the Preakness by closing on a slow pace. Bodemeister was a monster in the Ark Derby (9 length win), was a monster in the KY Derby (blistering pace, opened lead in stretch, came 2nd) and ran well in the Preakness. He would have destroyed the first two legs' field if not for IHA. Creative Cause was a really nice colt -- my derby horse (luckily have hit the last two) -- and ultra consistent. Hansen was incredibly fast when allowed to run his distance. 2013 -- Not a stellar crop in 2013, but matured in 2014. Palace Malice has proven to be an absolute monster and the best in America. Will Take Charge matured into an absolute beast and ran well several times. Orb was pretty good (KY Derby winner). Itsmyluckyday has always been top notch. Goldencents is an absolute monster going a mile -- winning the BC Dirt MIle and coming in 2nd to a monster in the Met Mile. Oxbow was really good when healthy. 2014 -- California Chrome is a monster. Ride on Curlin is classy, durable and consistent. Top Billing is special. Danza is a phenomenal horse (IMO) ... has potential to be a very *deep* crop .... last three crops all have been really good! 2011 was not shabby, either!

i think 2011 produced the best horse since Curlin, who i believe wasn't always put at his right distances. better than IHA. & everyone from 2013. maybe even Chrome. he was special

·
That a single colt is this much better than his peers either means he is really good or his peers are really bad. Seems to be the latter. Luckilky we saw a similar situation in 2011 and they turned out to be strong older horses.

I know I will be slammed for this, luckily, I have to leave in about an hour .... I want to preference my statements by saying, I believe California Chrome is wicked fast (on my speed figures), and the best horse in the crop. With all due respect, I feel like this guy was "bailed out", I suppose I could say, on numerous occasions. The reason .... I think Top Billing is a monster and I believe when healthy is amongst the best of the best. In the TC races, I don't think he would have won any races due to his style ... but, regardless, this guy was a fierce competitor. I also believe Danza ran like a monster in the Derby, I liked him in the Ark. Derby (as well as Ride on Curlin) and I think he would have destroyed the field in the Belmont due to his desire for distance. I feel like I am forgetting someone but I just feel some of the top competition were never given the ability to run their race (health, distance, etc). JMO. Best colt in the crop, though, I do not deny that. My point is, I think Top Billing, Danza or maybe even Ride on Curlin could beat him when healthy / at their distance. JMO.
