  • icyhotboo · J W Blue is a deep closer this track is killing these kind of horses. I would say not on the board I like Rattlesnake Bridge in the exotics. Coil is the key to the race as you said , can he get the distance if he does then it'd him and ST if not it's ST.Shackleford, and I'm going to put in a tri and super that way with 4 under. I make a lot of plays Mike because a race usuallydoesn't go the way you handicap it on paper but Baffert is not going to run his horse against the bias. For me Stay Thirsty keeps getting better so I'll stay with him, thow insome exotics.GL · 631 days ago ·

Mike Welsch gave a rather negative critique' of this horse's last gallop. He doesn't look real impressive in his races either. Half of the odds of J W Blue probably, who I'm still studying

  • MichaelPavelick · icyhotboo, Did you se Bowman's Causeway gallop, jog, or work out? I had previously noted that the distances of his last 3 races were perfect, and he had been training at Saratoga longer then anybody · 631 days ago ·

  • MichaelPavelick · I did some google searches using the keywords "J W Blue Dutrow" after I made this post, and actually if was fairly insightful. Dutrow just before the earthquake was debating if he should actually withdraw J W Blue from the Travers. Then once the earthquake hit, he quoted: “As the days have narrowed down, I’ve been trying to back out. When that earthquake hit yesterday, that was my sign. I said, ‘I’m all in.’ I’m not a big superstitious guy. When that earthquake hit — we have a chance.” From Michael Pavelick's perspective, that shows the trainer doesn't have a lot of confidence in his horse. I will make a separate post about the uncertainty of 3 year olds. · 631 days ago ·

Draw day is today, at 2 p.m. the post positions will be drawn for Sunday’s PRINCE OF WALES STAKES, an event inaugurated in 1929 (although it has not been run every year). • cugel the clever · Check Your Soul certainly had the most impressive prep race. He and Inglorous raced the same day, at the same distance, only one race apart. CYS won his race more impressively and in a faster time. But, I don't think the likely pace scenario will help either of them. The best speed in the race, Pender Harbour, is fresh and rapidly improving and if he can get away on the lead with moderate to slow fractions, he'll steal the race. · 693 days ago ·

But with "pace on!", this one sets up beautifully for late charging Dialed In in a Holy Bull repeat. Best on-the-board bomber? Bowman's Causeway. No chance to hit the board?
