R.I.P Bond Holder you will be missed:(
I saw this and thought no, I must have seen something else. Such a Sad Day indeed.
  • cathi929 · Condolences to Doug O'Neil, Reddam Racing and the entire barn. RIP Big Guy, you might have been taken away from us way to soon. You Will NEVER be forgotten. Run Fee, Run Free · 746 days ago
  • Northport · Tough week for Reddam after the loss of Electric Eddie a few days ago · 746 days ago
Very sad hard to believe. He was only 3, hope he did not suffer too much.
Has died due to laminitis. This makes me sad :( RIP Gorgeous boy.
Update on the laminitis? Hoping for good news.
Wher would I go to find out if Bond Holder went through an auction?
Bond Holder is now being treated for laminitis, after previously being diagnosed with a foot abscess. BH and DRF both have articles, but DRF's is pay-to-read. http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/83912/bond-holder-being-treated-for-laminitis

  • AnneShaw · Goblin, so sorry to hear that. Is it possible the airplane incident caused or was it underlying condition and the pain and stress made it worse? · 777 days ago
  • goblin · Anne, The BH article, which I linked on this page below, states he did injure the foot/hoof on the Federal Express flight. I'll try the link here. http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/83912/bond-holder-being-treated-for-laminitis · 777 days ago
According to this in Bloodhorse, the colt is still out due to his injuries suffered on the plane ride: http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/83626/no-tampa-bay-derby-for-bond-holder
FrontRunner Stakes winner Bond Holder recovering from a bumpy flight to Louisiana for what turned out to be an aborted run in the Risen Star Stakes last Saturday, is at Tampa Bay Downs for a possible start in the Grade II, $350,000 Tampa Bay Derby at 1 1/16 miles on March 8. Mario Gutierrez would ride. The race is worth 50 Kentucky Derby qualifying points to the winner. Bond Holder currently is 12th on the points list with 11. “He’s day-to-day,” said Dennis O’Neill, brother of trainer Doug O’Neill. “He’s tentatively scheduled to work at Tampa Monday, and if all goes well, he’ll run in the Tampa Bay Derby.”
Bond Holder now is heading to the Tampa Bay Derby. They rerouted him to Florida after he was not happy on his flight home from Louisiana.

  • tmallios1 · Other than Saratoga and the BelmontPark Fall Championship meet.Keenelands Spring Session ran a close 3rd in anticipation of overall quality racing. Unfortunately when the carpet was installed Wall to Wall, they took that anticipation away. All it basically is now,a prelude that CD is around the Corner and one can sense the ice cubes being prepared for the Mint Julips. Just another in the line of decisions one would think they had to consult Einstein for.It was that brilliant of a call. · 804 days ago
  • tmallios1 · Sorry typed onto thr wrong thread · 804 days ago
sorry to hear this. bond holder was a horse worth watching because of great pedigree.
Bond Holder, with Mario Gutierrez up, went six furlongs for Doug O’Neill in 1:12.60. Bond Holder is ticketed for the $400,000, Grade II Risen Star Stakes at the Fair Grounds on Feb. 22.

  • Mary Z. · Really nice colt. And no hype yet. · 834 days ago
  • illhaveanothertriplecrown · Love this horse. my get in the gate horse for that fantasy game that is run through this site. Right now I like him to win on may 3rd, key words being right now · 834 days ago
On Jan. 12th he worked in company, covering 6F in 1:14.80 over Fast Dirt at Santa Anita finishing 14/23.
on Nov. 20 Bond Holder worked 4 furlong in 49 flat finishing out in 21/43
This horse is a serious contender for the Breeders Cup and has the pedigree to do some severe damage on the Triple Crown trail.
  • EP Taylor · I like this horse also. But just to win the Juvenile. we will take baby steps from there. can't discount a reddam 2 year old. · 945 days ago
Big time ride to get this guy home. Serious for the Juvenile.

  • LAZMANNICK · It was interesting to watch Mario's judge of pace. Earlyt in the back stretch he started to droip back a touch and when I looked at the time I coculd see why. This guy worked nicely at SA too. He's going to be a player in the Juvenile for sure. · 948 days ago
  • EP Taylor · Congrats tp the Reddams! · 948 days ago
