Other than this filly defeating Genuine Risk in the Maskette(Grade I), and Rachel Alexandra defeating Mine That Bird in the Preakness, has any other Kentucky Oaks champ defeated a Kentucky Derby winner?

  • kay.robinett · I do not believe Twilight Tear was entered in the Kentucky Oaks but won many of the big three year old filly races of her HOY 3 year old season (Pimlico Oaks, now the Black Eyed Susan, Acorn, CCA Oaks) and I think she beat her stablemate, the KY Derby/Preakness winning 3YO colt Pensive on multiple occasions that year. · 662 days ago
  • Buckpasser · I it should also be noted that Black Maria also raced against a Belmont Stakes winner in Crusader and a Preakness Winner in Display though she did not beat them. · 661 days ago
Genuine Risk(#51) avoid this filly at all costs. GR ran in the Derby, 'cause BND was the eventual winner of the Oaks. Only time they met, BND beat GR. Remember the ones that didn't get their just due.
