It’s rare to see a Bob Baffert-trained horse make its first start without a bullet work. It’s rarer still to see a Baffert firster make its debut in a route race, but such was the case with Blonde Fog, who runs in the Grade III Santa Ysabel Stakes at 1 1/16 miles on Saturday, one of six stakes races...Read More

  • annmatt · Some additional points about Pure Fun: Including her debut, Pure Fun has started eight times, taking 4 tries to graduate. Since her first start on 6/24, she has run with the following days between races: 19, 29, 35, 26, 9, 35, 14! She has run without Lasix, and not having to worry about 30 days recovery time between races likely made it possible to concentrate on the best races for her continuing education. She now has won on 3 surfaces! She has run at 6 different tracks, with 5 in her home state, and one cross country! She is definitlely a filly to watch for 2013. · 192 days ago ·
