What the Horse Racing Nation is saying about Blind Luck...

For the second year in a row, it has become pretty clear that the winner of the Kentucky Oaks has been far more legitimate than the winner of the Kentucky Derby. On Aug. 21, Blind Luck defeated her main rival for end-of-the-year honors, Devil May Care, in the Alabama. A week later, Super Saver finis...Read More
Zenyatta once again tops Horse Racing Nation's Fan Power Rankings with Quality Road and Blame were second and third. Rachel Alexandra's rating dropped after her loss to Persistently in the Personal Ensign Handicap, but the 2009 Horse of the Year managed to hang on to fourth place over Lookin at Luck...Read More
The top four finishers from Saturday’s Grade 1, $500,000 Betfair TVG Alabama all appear to have emerged from the race in good order.   Alabama heroine Blind Luck was reported to be a “happy horse” by Archie Cross, assistant to trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, who is also a co-owner of the filly wit...Read More
Blind Luck’s keen eye found the wire first again Saturday afternoon at Saratoga Race Course as she rallied from last to edge Havre de Grace by a neck and win the 130th running of the Grade 1, $500,000 Betfair TVG Alabama Stakes. Read More
During his 31-year training career Jerry Hollendorfer has had his picture taken after winning prestigious races such as the Hollywood Futurity, Haskell Invitational, and Santa Anita Handicap, but there is a 1991 photo taken after a victory at Belmont Park in 1991 he particularly cherishes.   “A...Read More
It will be “East meets West” Saturday afternoon at Saratoga Race Course when Devil May Care and Blind Luck, the top two 3-year-old fillies in the country, face off in the 130th running of the Grade 1, $500,000 Betfair TVG Alabama at 1 ¼ miles.   Coming off a pair of Grade 1 victories in the Mo...Read More
  • medlocke · Save Zenyatta, because it's so hard to think of her as a filly or mare because of her behemoth size and ability. I really believe that Blind Luck is the best filly racing in America right now. As I said, besides Zenyatta. She's also a confirmed late closer who's closing kick has worked very effectively for her in 2010. Devil May Care is also an outstanding 3yr.old filly. But she likes to rate a bit closer to the lead than does Blind Luck. This should be quite an intriguing race. Whether or not Blind Luck's late closing kick can catch the front end speed of Devil May Care? One thing I am convinced of. Blind Luck or Devil May Care, both, could beat Rachel Alexandra based on the form that Rachel has raced with so far in 2010. But I like Blind Luck to just edge out Devil May Care in a very close finish. I think Blind Luck is an outstanding 3yr.old filly with a world of talent. Baring injury or a set-back of any kind? I really think the sky is the limit for this filly. JMO. · 16 days ago
The performance of the week was turned in by Sidney’s Candy in the Grade 2 La Jolla at Del Mar. The John Sadler trainee set blazing fast fractions, put away Macias, and kept on going in a visually impressive turf debut. He stopped the clock in a track record 1:39.67 and will probably remain on the g...Read More

Nicanor's race was still six hours away and the rain was still coming down.  I came to the realization that the rain was here to stay and would affect Nicanor's race one way or another. Arriving at Delaware Park, after walking through the casino to get to the track (a long depressing walk!)...Read More
The question of who is the top 3-year-old filly in the country could be resolved at Saratoga Race Course on August 21.   Devil May Care, who scored her second Grade 1 victory of the year in Saturday’s Betfair TVG Coaching Club American Oaks, will be pointed to the Grade 1 Betfair TVG Alabama o...Read More

Apparently the women’s movement in Thoroughbred racing is still going strong. A year ago, Rachel Alexandra was the top three-year-old in every way. Now in 2010, it’s another filly, Blind Luck, who at the very least rates as the nation’s fastest three-year-old of either sex.Read More

Some horses have a nose for the wire. The aptly-named Blind Luck is certainly one of them. II) July 10 on the slop. ...Read More
