I Believe he has hes first UK runner tomorrow? Running on the AW at Lingfield horse is called Blame Love. Blame/Twisted Tale - Tale Of The Cat think that's how you say it anyway no good with breeding
Caval, trained by Jerry Hollendorfer and owned by J. W. Singer, wins the first race at Santa Anita to become Blame's first winner!
I am eagerly awaiting his two year olds at Saratoga. Quality Road also.
Someone has heard that Blame was put down after suffering from colic....Please tell me this isn't true

He was a good one!
I'm so excited to see his foals hit the track next year!!! IMO, he should be rated a little higher IMO. 3x Grade One Winner, INCLUDING THE BC CLASSIC. All in his four year old year, he was still improving. Sadly, he will ALWAYS be known as the spoiler of Zenyatta's BC Classic.

  • jay s. · Don't get me wrong. I wanted Zenyatta to win more than anything. But, I want to give credit for Blame's gutsy performance. · 1610 days ago
  • icyhotboo · jay s., It seemed that way to me too. Blame was a very good closer. I believe he made that point at Saratoga when he ran down Quality Road, which even when I watch the replay I still don't think he'll get there. · 1610 days ago
Does anyone know if he has had any offspring?
  • goblin · Yes, if you go to the Claiborne Farm site there are photos of some nice looking foals. · 1718 days ago
The Bloodhorse is reporting that Blame's first foal is a colt out of the stakes winning Irish-bred mare Promptly by Lead On Time.
Has blame have any foals due this year?
  • BrittanyHamilton · His first foals are due in 2012. He bred 106 mares this year. · 1958 days ago
  • shadowno · 94 of the mares sent to Blame were either stakes runners or stakes producers. 99 of his mares reported in foal including Cloud Break, dam of the great sprinter Lost In The Fog. Blame's female family is complete racing royalty. He was a quality runer who has the potential to be a top flight sire. The fact he is a Claiborne homebred just adds to the attraction. · 1958 days ago
Blame did have a great heart and 100 % deserved Horse of the Year in 2010. Blame fair and square held off Zenyatta. It's not like Zenyatta stumbled or got bumped or anything to hurt her chances. Zenyatta obviously wasn't fast enough to catch Blame.

  • Protagonist · Buckpasser, hello hope that you're having a great day. In your statements concerning Zenyatta BC '10 , I want to make sure that I have you correct. Your of the opinion that in Zenyattas racing style last year came down to live by the sword die by the sword? · 2021 days ago
Zenyatta is my favorite horse, but she did lose, Blame had home advantage, but Zenyatta had that in her other two BC wins, but she lost to an amazing horse so lets just leave it to that! :)

  • HORSEFACE · She did not look comfortable at churchill downs takin dirt in the face.... but horse racing is a professional sport right? And the BC. is the super bowl 4 horse racin.... to determine a champion of one race there can't be 2 bowl winner no matter how you put it · 2051 days ago
  • HORSEFACE · p.s.... pittsburgh fan's don't clam victoy.. of a bowl thay lose.... and greenbay fan's don't say pittsburgh are champ's 2 thay play a brillant football game no.... it don't work like that at allll...disappointed or not there can be only 1 super bowl champ and that is BLAME....... and talkin about that track B.S....remember the super bowl is never just in 1 city ''''' · 2051 days ago

Not a novice, just sick of going over same ground again and again. Blame beat Zenyatta fair and square. I like Zenyatta but she lost to Blame

  • icyhotboo · was just kidding, nothing serious.Your right though as far as I'm concerned about Blame as he doesn't get the credit he deserves for being the horse that he is.He is only one of a few horses ever to run that could hold off that charge. For me it hurt a little but what a way to go down. · 2102 days ago

  • timgsmith10 · So its easy to say that many horses could beat Blame but Some people on here say none of these same horses could beat Zenyatta when Blame Beat Zenyatta? And they wonder why I think they are ZENBIES? · 2104 days ago
Blame should have been Horse of the Year in 2010. Zenyatta still has not passed him. Blame traveled for victories and took down better competition along the way. If you put their past performances againts each other and blacked out the names, any knowledgeable handicapper would pick Blame's for best performance in 2010. I recently visited Blame and got to feed him a peppermint and thank him for all the money he won me, a truly great horse!
I feel that Blame would have been H.O.Y., if he didn't get blown out by Haynesfield in the Jockey Club Gold Cup.(G1) If you look at the race it was'nt even close. I think if the margin was as slim as Zenyatta's loss to him in the B.C. classi,c he would have won the title
  • DeadHeat · Keep in mind the for Haynesfield was in and how much he loved that track. Blame had never worked over Belmont and as we have seen before normally horses who have some exp over the surface do better. Blame had absolutely none and wasn't exactly tightened down for that race in particular. · 2140 days ago
I can't remember what the video was called. But it was when Rachel and Zenyatta were both up for HOTY in 2009. These two people made some huge speech on how Zenyatta deserved it SO much more then Rachel because the BCC was a race set up for who should win HOTY. It was the one race to determine who won it..THEN for 2010 HOTY made another video on how they were wrong because they just wanted Zenyatta to win. They said how the BCC is really no factor in determining the winner etc. How pathetic..They disgust me. If I can find the video I will post it to this...

  • Thoroughbred44 · I do think that Zenyatta should have gotten HOTY. I also think Rachel Alexandra deserved HOTY. I'm glad Z got it in 2010, but even Gary Stevens said that the 09 BCC field was extremely loaded and had tougher competition than Rachel's fields. He also mentioned Rachel took an easy path as well by taking the Woodward instead of the Travers. I'm sorry, I am really not trying to "bash" Rachel's phenomenal career, I'm just saying. Also, the way Rachel was ridden in the Woodward makes me sick. How much she was whipped is horrible considering she was such a stupendous filly. It's finished now, nothing we can do but cherish what joy these horses have brought to our lives, but what do we do instead, we put them down and trash them and give them bad names. That's what sickens me. Only time will tell who is the "greatest". · 2146 days ago
  • Thoroughbred44 · We love a horse for what they mean to us; to anyone. Like Afleet Alex and perseverance, or Smarty Jones and Seabiscuit with the underdog story. Like Secretariat with his impossible story! Or Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta, the love they poured out to their fans, what they did for us, they gave us hope, joy, they restored our spirits, our love of horse racing, in some ways, they make us who we are. The least we could do to repay them is respect them. Even if you don't believe they are the greatest horse ever, respect them for what they've done. Some people's favorite horse could be some allowance horse that has a 12 race losing streak, but their spirit and joy of running makes us believe in them. That's what we do, we believe in them, we love them, we should respect them. · 2146 days ago
I can't find his beyer in the breeders cup anywhere. Does anyone know what it was?
Blame was just good enough to beat Zenyatta so I gave him an 8.In any other year against quality opponents neither gets more than a 6

  • dreamingofanna · Anybody dismissing a horse for losing a race, loses credibility themselves. A horse should be ranked by how they ran and how fast. Secretariat is the best horse of all time because he was arguably the fastest. Thats why I'm a big fan of horses like Rachel Alexandra. Ghostzapper, Cigar, etc. They where consistently always very fast and usually dominated. · 2192 days ago
  • DaniP · Zenyatta did not face near the quality that a horse like Secretariat did, neither did Blame or QR. She did not approach his best clockings ever. Secretaritat gets such a high ranking becaus of what he did and who he beat. Blame was a good horse, not great and Zenyatta lost while running her race. Make all the excuses she want, Smith never stopped riding and gave her essentially the same ride he did in the 09 Classic. The only difference was that the playing field was not nearly level in terms of know how a horse would perform over that surface. She was a great filly, but to say one of the greatest of all time is stretching it. In overall rankings she was a very good horse. · 2192 days ago
