Who is this horse I am hearing buzz about on the HRN FB page? They are saying something about a turf sprinter.
April fools jokes coming from Australia... http://www.puntersparadise.com.au/news/Black-Caviar-successfully-cloned-foal-due-in-September_129305/
Which horse was better Black Caviar or Frankel at 7f
Apparently Black Caviar has taken to pregnancy as she took to racing! Can't wait, she will be a great mother!
That's my girl! Top ranked horse in the world, and the first from southern hemisphere. She shares the honor with Treve--girl power! http://www.smh.com.au/sport/horseracing

Man I hated reading this. Black Caviar's 2 year-old half brother has developed laminitis after being treated for a spider bite. http://www.justhorseracing.com.au/news/australian-racing/black-caviars-brother-battling-laminitis/235501

We're having a baby!! Confirmed in foal, today, to Exceed and Excel. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/turf-thoroughbreds/black-caviar-in-foal-to-exceed-and-excel/story-fnajufri-1226745945169
after reading that she didn't scan in foal the first time & the "back to work by November 1 if she isn't" thing, i will not be surprised if Nelly comes out of retirement yet again.
A half sister to Black Caviar/full sister to All Too Hard was born today in Australia - https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BW_CNblCEAAyvU-.jpg
I read somewhere that Black Caviar is not in foal to Exceed and Excel and will be bred again, but if she is not in foal after the next breeding she will return to racing.

  • yukichan · And Makybe Diva in foal to All Too Hard. As of Wednesday, Nelly not yet confirmed in foal. Moody has been quoted as saying (jokingly, I think), "He keeps telling me that if she's not in foal by November 1 to bring her back into work." · 346 days ago
  • paul.nathan.946 · doubt hes joking hes hardly got anything exciting to race at the moment hes lacking a top quality horse · 346 days ago
A moment of silence for Black Caviar who has officially left the Undefeated List at 25 for 25. I doubt we'll see another grace the UnD list for as long as she had.

  • airedale2008 · Black Caviar had 25 wins in a row. This was not a streak within a career, as was Citation’s or Cigar’s. Many will call her 25 wins the finest undefeated career by a racehorse since 1879. There is film galore to show the strength of competition Nelly faced. 54 wins by Kincsem is an incredible career, no doubt. Did she face a top quality field every time? Of course it’s hard to compare these two 134 years apart. Even though match races don’t prove much, it would be fun to see them in the flesh coming down the stretch. My guess is the Hungarian finishes second. · 352 days ago

  • Sullivan · I have noticed that as well · 361 days ago
  • Northport · more than 70% of their G1 races are less than a mile, and the number of horses that win the Cup each year that are bred in Australia is constantly decreasing, so yes... they are definitely breeding for speed · 361 days ago
Black Caviar is the best one final time! 2103 Australian Horse of the Year!
  • yukichan · This is the third time she has been named as such, 2010 - 2013. She secured 251 of 294 votes, beating her younger brother All Too Hard for the honor. Yay Nellie! · 362 days ago
  • yukichan · 2013 HOY that is, early where I am. She joins the grat Sunline as the only 3x HOY. She is also champion sprinter. No word yet on whether she is confirmed in foal to Exceed and Excel, who is sire of the year. · 362 days ago
Happy Birthday to all Southern Hempishere horses who turn one year older tomorrow, August 1! Wishing a safe and successful year to all, racing or retired.

  • jonquil · Can't wait to see how this turns out! I hope everything goes well for Nelly! :) So glad her owners didn't send her to Galileo! · 435 days ago
Just thinking about this... With horses such as Animal Kingdom "flopping" (No offence intended) at Royal Ascot, just shows how difficult it is for a foreign horse to win there, which I think just really makes Black Caviars win there even more amazing.

Definitive is to Nelly as Brass Hat is to Groupie Doll. Perhaps the best feature to come out post-retirement on Nelly! News of her first date should be forthcoming. Enjoy this: http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/superracing/we-want-black-caviar-to-be-just-a-horse-again/story-fn67lu29-1226645892002

  • buckpasser · No denying Frankel's greatness on the track, but he is unproven as Jay and SS have said. Also with so many foals (120 or 140 I have forgotten the number) in a crop, how do you avoid the inbreeding down the line. The inbreeding issue was the reason so many top breeders limited the crop size of their stallions. · 499 days ago
  • buckpasser · I think they are smart to go to another stallion. · 499 days ago
She'll never venture over here.. and not that it means much at all.. but she rates a A++ with Tapit
