Beholder back in training. Does anybody with a DRF paid account have any details?

  • rafirox · Silence is right. Free is always good. One thing I love about Netflix is it is cheap and everyone can use it. I have an account and all my brothers, children, wife, in laws, etc all use the same account. It is only like what $9 a month? If something beats Netflix, Sword, please let me know. · 834 days ago
Richard Mandella reports that the cut on Beholder’s left hind pastern “is just about healed. We’re waiting for one spot to close in and she’ll be able to train. It might be another week. We’re way ahead of the game. When it happened, I thought she might be out two months.” The two-time Eclipse Award-winning filly came out of her fourth-place finish in the June 7 Ogden Phipps with the injury.
Richard Mandella said two-time Eclipse Award champion Beholder is doing well as she recovers from a cut on her left hind pastern following her fourth-place finish in Saturday’s Ogden Phipps at Belmont Park. “So far it looks like it’s healing well,” the Hall of Fame trainer said Thursday morning. “We’ve not had any infection, which is the important thing. It’s questionable whether she would make the Del Mar meet.”
@Sullivan http://sdhorserace.com/2014/06/09/beholder-injured-in-ogden-phipps/ weird how both Chrome and beholder were injured and both finished fourth..
  • Sullivan · Saw this about Beholder. They were very concerned with it because of all the dirt, thought it might get infected. Mandella not sure when it happened, though · 863 days ago
Heal quickly big girl. Like CC, you were very game to run through what must have been a painful injury. http://sdhorserace.com/2014/06/09/beholder-injured-in-ogden-phipps/
Not today! Hoped she would fight harder but still happy to see the top three round out the superfecta

  • tmallios · Both laid eggs on the biggest stage. At least Chrome had an excuse. 3 races in 5 weeks and 4 races in 9 weeks. He is not a machine,he succumbed to the stressful journey. Just hope Baby Huey does not wheel him back in the Haskell. Might have a shot for some R & R. Just refrain from asking Alan and the Excersize rider to opine. These guys might give the OK to run back in 3 weeks. · 866 days ago
  • LAZMANNICK · She got beat by a length after being taken out of her normal running style in a questionable decision by Gary Stevens. That would be the same as asking POS to try and wire the field instead of making her usual come from behind run. Oh I forgot, POS didn’t win either. · 866 days ago

  • travel_vic · fast horses often do run fast works, just like fast people do jumping jacks fast...same exact thing. Mean only that they are following an exercise program and are sound. · 878 days ago
  • tmallios · The great thing about this race is that none of the top 3 fillies has a glaring edge in conditioning. Beholder and P.O.S both raced once, and Hatches has 2 races under her belt. This will be a no excuse race. None will claim that tey are tired or any other excuse. All 3 have been pointing to this race since it was carded. As evidenced by the way they have been prepared. This has been the Target. · 878 days ago
Two-time Eclipse Award winner Beholder, set to ship for New York on Thursday, May 29, for the $1 million Ogden Phipps on Belmont Day, June 7, is scheduled to have one workout over the massive Belmont Park oval before the second start of her 4-year-old campaign. “She’ll have a short breeze there before we run,” trainer Richard Mandella said. “She’ll be there a week, so somewhere, four or five days out I’m guessing, she’ll get a short breeze.”
Two-time Eclipse Award winner Beholder is scheduled to work Monday morning, “probably seven furlongs,” for the $1 million Ogden Phipps at Belmont Park on Belmont Day, June 7. Regular rider Gary Stevens will be aboard the 4-year-old daughter of Henny Hughes for Hall of Fame trainer Richard Mandella.
on May 12, Beholder worked 5F at Santa Anita on Fast Dirt in 1:00.00 b finishing 8/29.
Beholder is due to work in the next few days as she prepares for the $1 million Ogden Phipps on Belmont Stakes Day, June 7. “She couldn’t be better,” Richard Mandella said of the two-time Eclipse Award-winning filly, who made her 4-year-old debut a winning one by capturing the Santa Paula Stakes on April 20.
If she were to run in the Odgen Phipps Handicap (and win) that would be the coolest birthday present ever. I just can't wait to watch her run again. She's such a thriller!

  • ConquestCastiel · I was saying it would be awesome if she ran in the Odgen Phipps. It would be even cooler if she won. I'm not predicting she will win. I have no idea who will be running, how she'll be feeling, and for all we know she could be scratched. All I was saying was, it would be the coolest birthday present ever if my favorite filly ran in the Handicap and won. · 903 days ago

i didn't use to like her that much before, but i've really fallen in love with her lately. Gary Stevens said today that Beholder is "probably the most intelligent horse i've ever sat on" i know some people that work at Santa Anita or visit Beholder frequently that says she is an absolute sweetheart & a sucker for attention. what a nice filly.

  • tmallios1 · asatevens is really beginning to crack me up. He is to blame for Point Given,he is to blame for Candy Ride,Beholder is the most intelligent horse. What has he ridden her 3 or 4 times and he can summize this. Enough of the color commentary Gary, you left that profession to ride again. How intelligent must a horse be that in the 4 races you rode her. Physically on the track she was tons the best and fastest racehorse. That would suffice in your next commentary. · 914 days ago

  • rorschach1992 · Ogden Phipps will be a great race. Princess, and now Beholder, prepping in softer spots to begin their way there. Close Hatches has already won a G2 and G1 this year. I'll definitely be there Sunday to see Beholder, my favorite. · 921 days ago
