He's gone.... i cant believe it.
  • Coggins · It's a Shame that he's gone ,however he at least went out a WINNER,he ran a heck of a race. I know that I'll miss seeing him race. · 1515 days ago

  • bigfootmauler · he foundered in his good foot and they put him down.. i would have tried to give him a shot.. but depends on the severity of it · 1517 days ago
  • Thoroughbreed · Glen Hill did everything possible to save Banned. When he foundered on his left front and could no longer bear his weight, that was it. He accomplished a lot in a short career: http://www.examiner.com/thoroughbred-pedigree-in-national/laminitis-claims-the-life-of-del-mar-derby-winner-banned · 1517 days ago
omg i loved this horse http://www.ntra.com/content/display/news/NDg5NjA=
Wow, what an eventful week in horse racing... we lost some, like Rahy, Crystal Lily, Slip Anchor, and Bearpath. We saw the greatness of Dick Turpin, Pomeroy's Pistol, Future Prospect, and Derby Kitten. We saw the rebirth of To Honor and Serve. and in Hansen, we get a glimpse of how good the future can be. So to those we love, those we've lost, and those who give us hope, thanks for a great week!!
  • medlocke · @shores, I saw the replay of the G1 Premio Vittorio Di Capua from Italy, and Dick Turpin was very lucky to have been able to run down Cityscape on the wire, and beat him literally on the bob. Steve Drown timed the fraction's just right I felt, and really did a great job stealing the break on Dick Turpin aboard Cityscape in that race. Soumillon had to really get after Dick Turpin to run Cityscape down!! But I would imagine Richard Hannon and Roger Charlton will both be very pleased with what they saw out of their respective horses in that race. · 1523 days ago
  • shores · Cityscape ran an amazing race...in fact, i thought he was the best horse in the race by far. I was just saying, however indirectly, that I was very impressed with Dick Turpin's closing kick... · 1523 days ago
Praying for him. :(
From the President of Glen Hill Farm, Craig Bernick: "Banned made it through the night, surgery will likely be tomorrow morning, maybe this afternoon."
is scheduled to have surgery either this afternoon or tommorow.
There is still a 20% chance (they said) that he makes it!!! come on, banned, fight!!! you can do it!!!
Turf star Banned was injured today in a workout ... waiting for more word on the severity of the injury.

  • medlocke · @BrianZipse, That's not good news at all. I hope it's something that Banned recovers quickly from? Because he definitely looks one of, if not the best American hopeful in one of the Breeders Cup turf races this year. · 1526 days ago
  • likin sparks · Such bad news, unless there has been a mis-diagnosis of the injury breaking both sesamoids are catatrophic. I would expect euthaniization unfortunately. Lets hope and pray for the best. · 1526 days ago
Pending Odds: This is my VA Derby choice. Hopin Street Game takes a ton of money of Hill Prince win :)
Banned makes it look easy in a short Jefferson Cup field.
Banned has a turf router over dirt sprinter pedigree mix and evidently takes after his sire. His dam won two of 12 sprint races and is a half sister to a stakes placed dirt sprinter, while his second dam was multiple stakes placed up to 1 1/16 miles over the dirt.
  • humphrey · Slectively bred by phenotype but acutally bred by genotype, which is random at meiosis. · 1856 days ago
