  • Floridaf · Horse of the Meet is now officially included! Matt, it was a great meet, and I was fortunate enough to see both the Swale and the Gulfstream Park Handicap. Later this week I will likely have a piece up on the Derby chances of the seven colts you named. · 23 days ago ·

Welcome to the last Derby dance Saturday! While the Arkansas Derby itself seems to be coming up lighter than in recent years, there are some BIG names running at the "Spa of the South" tomorrow.Read More
  • 12thCrown · Already changed my long-shot picks after a few more hours of study - I like Cozzetti as the sleeper pick but think Isn't He Clever will be tough with his stalking style. Good luck all! · 40 days ago ·

Trainer David Fawkes is optimistic about his chances in Saturday’s $1.3 million Florida Sunshine Millions…and why not?  Not only will Fawkes saddle the 2-1 favorite and Mr. Prospector (G3) winner Apriority in the $150,000 Sprint, but he’ll also send the hard-knocking, stakes-winner Duke of Misc...Read More
Stronach Stable’s undefeated 4-year-old filly Awesome Feather, Pinnacle Racing and Bill Kaplan’s 2011 Eclipse champion filly or mare sprinter Musical Romance and Reeves Thoroughbred’s 4-year-old Mucho Macho Man, third in the Kentucky Derby (G1) last spring, are among the stars expected to run in one...Read More

  • terri.zeitz · How exciting does it get? Stars and possible superstars will racing on that date. Looks like Mucho Macho Man has filled out his big frame iand is quite the Man (Sunshine Millions Classic). I'm so glad Awesome Feather(filly and mare race) is healthy and running. Little Mike (turf) and Apriority (sprint) are the other favorites. And Musical Romance (filly and mare sprint) is another favorite. Gulfstream is the place this winter with so many returning champions training and running and some wonderful derby prospects training there. · 125 days ago ·

Big Drama was a very tough act to follow in the stable of trainer David Fawkes, but Apriority still put on quite a show Saturday at Gulfstream Park. Apriority didn’t come close to the track record of 1:08.28 that Big Drama set while winning $100,000 Mr. Prospector Stakes (G3), but the 4-year-old son...Read More

New Farm’s New Jersey homebred colt The Hunk looked good winning an allowance race at Gulfstream Park on Dec. 10 while going wire-to-wire at six furlongs. • MableRoberts1 · As the rest of the article says... " This was the second time that the stewards suspended Maragh for a gate infraction in a major race. In the Belmont Stakes, Maragh was suspended for allowing Isn’t He Perfect to come over on Mucho Macho Man, who in turn squeezed Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom came out of the Belmont with a leg fracture and has been sidelined the remainder of the year." He ruined a 3 year old campaign that I would say "WOULD" have been electric for Animal Kingdom. For Animal Kingdom to finish 2nd in the Belmont after such a disaster is remarkable. I know he would have obliterated Uncle Mo, Stay Thirsty, and all of the other 3 year old colts this year. He has serious attitude, a want for the win, and could pick them off one by one! I guess I find it hard to forgive Rijiv, especially after this. · 233 days ago ·
