Anilin was undoubtedly the greatest Russian racehorse of all time and his record proves this. He won 21 of his 27 races and took on the very best horses in the world with great distinction. Probably his greatest performance was in defeat when he ran a very creditable 5th place in the 1965 Prix de l'arc de Triomphe behind that great racehorse, Sea Bird II. Make no mistake about it Anilin was a top class racehorse.
Perhaps it is the only horse that can be proud of Russia.
