One day after it was announced that his 2013 debut has been delayed due to a quarter crack, Amazombie breezed 4F in 50:40 (1/1) on the dirt training at Santa Anita Park.
i love this horse & i hope he gets back into his groove.
On March 24, Amazombie breezed 5F in 1.02:80 (21/23) at Santa Anita Park.

He won’t run in the Potrero Grande. Trainer Bill Spawr said that 2011 Breeders’ Cup Sprint champion Amazombie is scheduled to have his first breeze this weekend since returning to the track following a break after the Breeders’ Cup Sprint last Nov. 3.
Amazombie is expected to return to the races in April 2013. He is under consideration for the Potrero Grande Stakes at Santa Anita on April 6 or the Count Fleet Sprint Handicap at Oaklawn on April 13. The decision will rely heavily on how the Santa Anita plays over the coming months.

Bill Spawr informs that Amazombie came out of his 8th place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint in good shape. “I don’t think he handled that track,” said Spawr. “He just wouldn’t get into the bit. He’s fine, though, so we’re just going to hang out and look for options.”
