Therefore he is open to a variety of Northern Dancer line mares. NORTHERN DANCER line mares present a great nick for nearly all current Roberto line sires, especially Red Ransom. The most successful branches for Red Ransom have been DANZIG (15 SW’s) and NIJINSKY II (8 SW’s). One should look closely at Danzig mares or mares by his sons (BELONG TO ME, BOUNDARY, CHIEF’S CROWN, HONOR GRADES, LANGFUHR, PINE BLUFF, etc.) along with Nijinsky II sons (ROYAL ACADEMY, SKY CLASSIC, etc.). Red Ransom has also enjoyed success with SADLER’S WELLS mares and therefore one should also look at mares by EL PRADO and MEDAGLIA D’ORO.
