Taking advantage of sizzling early fractions, Hot Summer went from last to first with a determined charge along the rail in the Grade 3, $100,000 Victory Ride presented by Jose Cuervo at Saratoga Race Course on Saturday afternoon. • KyOaksRunner · It's going to be a fantastic race, and what a great field entered in a race that honors one of the greatest 3-year-old fillies of all time. I think Kathmanblu is the class of the field though Inglorious is pretty intriguing. · 825 days ago ·

Turbulent Descent may have set a new stakes record in the Santa Anita Oaks (gr.1) on Saturday but the talented 3-year-old Congrats filly has unfortunately been removed from consideration for the Kentucky Oaks on May 6th. • zatt · Kathmanblu remains my top choice ... I was surprised to see she is 12-1 on the Oaks Pool ML. I am not sure who I like 2nd best between Dancing, Zazu and Tricky, my guess is Dancing but I will have to see how she rebounds from a dull performance in the Davona Dale. I do not think R Heat wants 9 furlongs at Churchill. I already placed a future bet on Inglorious for the Queen's Plate :) · 802 days ago ·

  • KyOaksRunner · I was very sursprised her odds were so high as well, I can't figure how they placed her behind R Heat Lightning, Dacninginherdreams and Zazu, it's pretty clear she's the leader of the division right now. Dancinginherdreams is definitely me second choice for the Oaks right now, I think she could end up beind better than Kathmanblu. Unfortunately I felt she should be dropped a spot because Zazu has been running so well and her last race she appeared to flatten out in the stretch. I'm hoping Inglorious heads for the Oaks, it would make for an exceptionally strong field if the majority of these fillies wind up in the gate. · 802 days ago ·

The Santa Anita Oaks (gr.1) was not just another 3-year-old filly race this year; it will go down as one of the best performances of the season. Turbulent Descent sat the right tactical trip under David Flores and turned the tables on Zazu in Saturday's Santa Anita Oaks (G1). • medlocke · The Santa Anita Oaks should be another great race between these two classy fillies. It will be the fourth time they've faced each other in their short careers. Looking at the three previous races between Turbulent Decent and Zazu, It appears to me that Turbulent Decent has the edge on the synthetic surface. Having beaten Zazu in the Moccasin Stakes and the Hollywood Starlet Stakes. Both times on the all-weather at Hollywood Park. But it looked as if Zazu may have the quicker turn of foot on conventional dirt between the two. When she reversed form on Turbulent Decent and beat her at Santa Anita in the Las Virgenes Stakes. Turbulent Decent ran very well in that race on the dirt also. But I'd have to give an ever so slight edge in the Santa Oaks to Zazu with the race being back on the dirt again at Santa Anita.
