Sackatoga 
Sackatoga Racing Stable










 Sackatoga is probably best known for the ownership group that cheered on Funny Cide to victories in the 2003 Kentucky Derby and 2003 Preakness Stakes.  

Sackatoga Stable LLC was founded by Jack Knowlton and Ed Mitzen in July 2006. Jack Knowlton has served as Managing Partner since 1995. Ed Mitzen, an experienced racehorse owner, oversees the communications arm of the corporation. 

Kentucky Derby winning trainer Barclay Tagg represents Sackatoga Stable at horse sales.  he is responsible for selecting horses for purchase as well as training all Sackatoga horses.  

Horses purchased at yearling and two year old in training sales in Florida are initially sent to New Episode Training Center in Ocala, Florida where they are prepared for their racing careers under the leadership of owner Tony Everard. 

Sackatoga currently has partnership opportunities for prospective owners available on the website.
