Who Am I ???

Who Am I ??? 615 X 400

*Bred in Kentucky, I was the best son of my Hall of Fame sire.

*A loser in my first couple of stakes attempts, I earned my first two stakes victories at the same track in Maryland.

*I was a stakes winner in five different states including Florida, New York, Maryland, Kentucky, and one smaller state.

*More than half of my stakes wins came at the age of four.

*The only time I ever finished out of one of the top three spots was at odds of 2-5.

*My longest winning streak was ended in the Northeast while carrying 130 pounds.

*I was a victorious favorite at Churchill Downs, not on the first Saturday in May, but the second one.

*In one of my most well known races, I finished second beaten four lengths by a horse in the Hall of Fame.

*I did not race at Saratoga at two or three, but when I finally did, I went undefeated in four tries.

*My fourth and final season on the track was cut short due to injury, with only one start and one win.

*As a stallion, I sired numerous stakes winners including one who was named Horse of the Year less than a decade after I won the award.

You should know by now … Who Am I ???

Meet Brian Zipse

Brian has been a passionate fan of horse racing since birth. Taken to the races at a very young age, he has been lucky enough to see all the greats in person from Secretariat, Forego, and Ruffian through Rachel Alexandra, Zenyatta, and American Pharoah.

Before coming to the Nation, Brian displayed his love for the sport through the development of his horse racing website, which quickly became one of the most popular blogs in the game.

As Editor of Horse Racing Nation, Brian authors a daily column as Zipse at the Track, or ZATT for short, and adds his editorial flare to the overall content of the website. Brian also consults for leading contest site Derby Wars, and is a Vox Populi committee member.

A graduate of DePaul University, Brian lives just outside of Louisville with his wife Candice and daughter Kendra.
