2012 Kentucky Derby Report Hansen
A good Thursday morning to everone! It was actually hot this morning when I got to Churchill Downs. I wasn't expecting it to be as warm as it was, but I'm not complaining one bit. I set up today in the shoot area, off the main track, to catch a glimpse of some new horses that we haven't featured too much yet. By doing this, I was able to get some good video of the Pletcher horses, Rousing Sermon, and Hansen. Today was the first time I saw Hansen back at Churchill Downs after being stabled at Trackside. Here is how the morning works went:



Once again, I'll be heading back over to the track to catch an afternoon of racing. I know Went the Day Well will be schooling in the paddock, but I'm not sure who else will be. We will find out and hopefully be able to get close enough to snag some video for you. Until the next time, lets all enjoy the Derby fever!

have heard exacrtly 16 hands, saw him in person and he isn't the tallest but his build is real athletic and firm looking
he's not very big
how big is hansen on the vid he looks tiny
I don't think Hansen has any chance at all of winning. He clearly is still way to hot headed and this was just on his daily gallop. He has shown in the past that when he acts this way, he cannot rate. He has to be able to calm down some. The groom that said he is just a playful horse is not fooling me.

Long story short, I took the long road getting involved in the industry. I did not get into horse racing until 2008 when I came to Louisville for college.

I'm originally from outside of Philadelphia and attend college at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky. Since I was 15 I was involved with working in radio and TV.
