Behind the Scenes: Prospective - Kentucky Derby 2012

Once again it was another perfect morning out at Churchill Downs. Let's keep knocking on wood that it stays this way for the next couple weeks. Out on the track this morning I focused in on Prospective. Yesterday it was reported from Norman Casse, assistant to Mark Casse, that Prospective would offically be in this years Kentucky Derby. Earlier in the week he was still on the boarderline if Prospective would run. Also out on the track this morning was Larry Jones aboard Mark Valeski. Believe You Can and Mark Valeski are scheduled to work on Sunday barring any inclement weather this weekend. Also on Sunday Havre de Grace will work. Things are starting to heat up and as the Twitter folks put it, "#TheOtherMadness" is just around the corner.

Meet Kevin Kerstein

Long story short, I took the long road getting involved in the industry. I did not get into horse racing until 2008 when I came to Louisville for college.

I'm originally from outside of Philadelphia and attend college at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky. Since I was 15 I was involved with working in radio and TV. I first covered horse racing at the 2011 Kentucky Derby and my passion just continues to grow. Let the early mornings begin and the Derby fever heat up as we hit the backside to get the exclusive stories leading up to the first Saturday in May.
