Last year Scott Zeron took a calculated gamble when he made he made the decision to leave home and ply his trade south of the border, based mainly at The Meadowlands. Part of his decision was based on a promise from top trainer Tony Alagna and Myron Bell of Brittany farms that they would help hook the young teamster up with some drives, and Saturday night it paid off in spades as Zeron steered heavy favorite Artspeak to an easy win in the $667,000 Metro Stakes.

Sometimes in the great sport of harness racing it's amazing how the stars can align a certain way that you develop a personal relationship with a racehorse. Last summer exactly that happened to my family and we have now become huge fans of a three-year old filly that we believe is going to turn some heads big time with her performances on the racetrack this summer

I am an Honours Graduate from Humber College School of Journalism and a lifelong race fan and handicapper who has been watching and wagering on harness racing for more than 30 years. I was a staff writer for The Standardbred magazine in the late '80s. I will attempt to provide both beginners and veterans with valuable information and handicapping tips and advice on the top events from all major harness circuits.
