If all goes according to plan upon resuming serious training, Unique Bella will target the GI Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint at Del Mar this fall. “We’d love to see her race by the end of September going six or six-and-half furlongs and go directly to seven furlongs for the Breeders’ Cup,” Diaz-Valdes said. “But that would be a dream come true, let’s put it that way. Hopefully, everything will go in that direction. She’s doing great though, there’s no question about that.”
Monmouth has really turned into a hole, what's with the under card, is the track in that sorry of shape, why not just move this race to Finger Lakes because that's the feel it has. No Joe Bravo, when he decides to stay at Saratoga on Haskell day you know its bad.
If you mean Private Smiles he ran in the 1973 Belmont Stakes. He didn't win.
1st- Always Dreaming 2nd- Pavel 3rd- Cloud Computing
1st- Kobe's Back (ran against 2 of the top 50 in history) 2nd- Drefong 3rd- Coastline 4th- Ransom The Moon
She will have 3 stakes starters at Monmouth Park on Sunday, Haskell Day. Irish War Cry(Haskell) Irish Strait(Gr.2 Monmouth Stakes), Irish Defence(John J. Reilly Handicap) all three owned and bred in New Jersey by Isabelle de Tomaso, daughter of Armory L. Haskell, the namesake of the days big event. It also just so happens to be the 50 year anniversary of the race
What a disappointing weekend of racing!! I mean really? Jim Dandy draws 5. Shuvee draws 3. The whole undercard of stakes to the Haskell is in the 7ish range. 6 in the Clem Hirsch. The Bowling Green only got 7. The Vanderbilt did not draw as good of field as it should. Only the Bing Crosby is truly delivering this weekend with an ELITE field, particularly a who's who from that area of the country.
Lukas is back!

Ok - next poll question, and an appropriate one for this thread. What do you think was the greatest upset in racing history? To me? Dark Star over Native Dancer in the 1953 Derby. Cost him a TC and an undefeated record. Biggest Upset in my lifetime? Arcangues at 133-1 in the BC Classic. I don't count the original upset (over Man O'War) because of the freak start due to there being no gate. Native Dancer did not have that excuse.
IWC/ Practical Joke/ McCracken/ Timeline
Always Dreaming Cloud Computing Pavel Good Samaritan
Can someone add this horses silks? I'm trying but they won't show up.
I like Timeline to win in a field which may not have a large amount of separation as far as talent goes. I like his post position with the only other speed being on his inside along with the fact that he just ran a big race over this track.
National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame seems to be the next start.
1st- Thirst For Victory 2nd- You're To Blame 3rd- Outplay
Another small field, WTF?? Where's the talent?? Wheres all the horses that ran in the Preakness and Derby? This is a great G1 race that should have more horse in it.
You know, people have been harping on how bad this years crop is ... however- I beg to differ. Not only are the horses that ran in this race continuing to run (which is an oddity in its own right, correct me if I am wrong but not one has retired yet.) But they are coming back and winning. No they may not be facing older better competition yet, so we don't know how well they will really fare, but I for one see some real promise. There is more than one BIG horse that has the potential to do well. They may not be world-beaters but this is the first collective group of colts I've enjoyed in quite a few years.
  • ruffianlover · Haters will hate no matter what. If it's a crop like this, that all take turns beating each other because multiple of them are very talented they say it's weak because there's no stand out. If it's a year with a stand out then they say the stand out was just beating up on weak horses. So they're never happy This is a VERY good crop, many of them are talented and able to win at the high level- tapwrit, always dreaming, classic empire, cloud computing, etc. and there are many that are second level and very inconsistent but still very good- McCracken, hence, etc. they seem to be very hardy as well and many of them put up a very huge campaign- looking at lee especially · 14 hours ago
