Can't wait to wake up to see A-P gallop tomorrow morning. If anyone is in town, the clubhouse will be open to the public from 7-8am and A-P will gallop sometime between 7:30-750. Also heard he will be in the paddock before tomorrow's 1st race
Protonico has pulled out of the Whitney Handicap, and instead will race this Sunday in the Monmouth Cup Stakes.
While the latest update on Lady Eli is fabulous, unlike the zealots who are attempting to turn this into the Horse Racing Nation Church, I want to thank the ones truly responsible for the care of this magnificent filly: Drs. Bryan Fraley and Robert Agne. They are the ones who are actually by her side and tending to her illness. While she is not out of the woods yet, their veterinary skills have led to much improvement in her condition. Keep up the good work gentlemen.
I like Keen Ice and Mr. Jordan to round out the trifecta with AP. Upstart has been off too long. Maybe the next time out for him.
Damm the Jim Dandy and Haskell have shuffled. Im going with AP, Upstart and Keen Ice. Upstart is the only other horse than AP from one of the big 5 derby preps and finished second. Keen Ice on the other hand hasnt won a stakes race or even come in second. Keen Ice came in fourth over 9 furlongs in the Louisiana Derby. Competitive Edge should set a really fast pace but hasnt ran this far before and probably cant. For fourth I probably am going with Mr Jordan who knows and likes the Monmouth track.
YESSS!!! Ladies and gentlemen the time has come!! Rachel's Valentina, the 2nd foal by 2009 horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra, will make her highly anticipated career debut this Sunday at Saratoga!! Race 2, 6 furlong maiden special weight. John Velazquez will ride! !!!!!!!!
Leon is the best trainer still active. With very limited opportunity he has won grade 1 stakes with horses he developed
Multiple Grade 1 winner Real Solution has been sold to Calumet Farm and will take up stud residence there for the 2016 season. The son of Kitten's Joy began his breeding career this past season at Ramsey Farm in Nicholasville, Ky., the outfit for which he was campaigned. He stood for an advertised fee of $12,500. Real Solution began his career in Italy, where he was a stakes winner, Transferred to the U.S. barn of trainer Chad Brown, he scored Grade 1 victories in the 2013 Arlington Million and the 2014 Manhattan Stakes. He recorded four other career Grade 1 placings, retiring with a bankroll of more than $1.3 million. Article on DRF
Think it's time to change your trainer?
Great video, I think Matt just doesn't want us betting her down.lol. That heart on the forehead is amazing. She looks a little small but her workouts look like she's ready to go. I hope this turns into an amazing story.
To stand at EA Ranches for 2016
Nice win in the John Morrissey S.!!
Going with AP, followed by nonnas boy and keen ice. Nonnas boy ran 1 1/16 in 1:41 over the track recently and was just as good as stanford and Japan 3rd by 1/2 in that 3 horse field. I like nonnas boy here, showed well against good cometiton and has a dazzler over this track. This track is going to be lightning fast. I wouldnt be at all shocked to see pharoah win this in sub 1:47 because of the pace that is going to be out there with competitive edge. If the race is competitve, you could see near track and world record times in this one. If its a romp it will be slower. This could be the race that finally puts the final nail in the critic/hater/chromie coffin. I love the way this one sets up for pharoah to do something dazzling.
scratch that. the nonnas boy win was on turf. have to reevaluate that one
