What happened?? Peter Euton Racing reporting that D w/Fate did not survive his injuries?!
Won the Tyros Stakes 3/4ths of a length to Tombelaine in 2nd with Convergence a close 3rd!
Just watched a very interesting and informative interview with John Gosden about Saturdays King George uploaded on YouTube by AtTheRaces.com. King Edward VII Stakes winner Eagle Top has been supplemented, but Gosden said he'll walk the track at Ascot tomorrow before he decides for sure if he'll run. He said he didn't really want Eagle Top running back to back races on fast ground because he's really bred more for good to soft ground. Gosden had some comments about nearly every horse in the field. He thinks Magician's chances are being very overlooked in the King George, sighting he'll be running over the trip he's bred for on fast ground where he's been at his best. Gosden said he was impressed by the way Magician kept finding more in the final 100 meters in his 2nd place finish behind The Fugue in the G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes. Information coming from John Gosden definitely has to be respected. He also said he had always intended to run Epsom Derby 3rd Romsdal in the King George and then send him on to the English St Leger in September if all goes well.
  • jonquil · I nearly replied some days ago to a comment you made with something, but didn't because I expect no one will agree with me. I know Taghrooda will get a nice weight allowance in this race, but even with that she'll be up against Magician, Trading Leather, Telescope and Mukhadram nevermind Flintshire and Romsdal. She's clearly a very talented filly, but is she really going to be able to cope against this field and win? She's had only 3 races against the same gender and age - this is quite different. I personally would've rather seen her worked into this type of field a bit more slowly. · 23 minutes ago
The BLUE GRASS?, that contest has been IRRELEVANT since it shifted to the Polycrap
Beat Agnes Stewart by 1 1/2 lengths in 2nd to win the Silver Flash Stakes! She was beautiful odds and the only filly I'd actually followed closely. Now I have to finally fix her silks and past performances~~~
7/24: There are two Grade 3 races for 2yos on the card today. Starting with Race 3 @ 6:25pm/1:25pm EST we have the Silver Flash Stakes for 2yo fillies, 7 furlongs. There are 8 runners and no scratches so far - the runners include Raydara for H. H. Aga Khan, Marsali for Calumet, Cocoon for Coolmore, New Alliance, Jack Naylor, and Agnes Stewart as well as 2 other runners for Aidan O'Brien in As Good As Gold and Qualify. O'Brien is bidding to win this race for the fifth time, but his fillies will need to have improved greatly to take on their tough competition today. Then in Race 4 @ 6:55pm/1:55pm EST is the Tyros Stakes for 2yo colts, also 7 furlongs. There are 3 runners and no scratches - the runners include Tombelaine for Prince Khalid Abdullah, Gleneagles for Coolmore, and Convergence. This race will probably end up being between Tombelaine or Gleneagles. The going reported from Leopardstown Racecourse is good to firm with no rain. The weather forecast is warm, dry and sunny.

Too bad, but connections had this one placed FAR too high all the time. On the farm he MIGHT be able to beat a few to the feed tub at least!
  • Exterminator · Erm. Vic. He won he Grade 1 Bluegrass. He was second in two Grade 1s as a 2yo. · 1 hour ago

Vanned off the track today, per HRTV on Twitter. Hope he is okay.
Fortunate enough to see Cougar II's FIRST North American start. Announcer at Anita, Joe Hernandez, brought him up from South America and when he won that day, I seem to recall those were the LONGEST odds at which he would go off during his entire NA career.
Very deep field but I like Fed Biz and Footbridge!

Wishing him a very speedy recovery. He was hospitalized Tuesday with pneumonia and remains in intensive care.
skelly, Hope you can represent the Bern Identity crew at Monmouth this weekend. We will know later today if he is entered. Battle will be in a battle at Del Mar!!!!
Though the pace will undoubtedly be hotter in the Haskell, he has a better chance in the Jim Dandy.
He just might
Q of the D. Who are you rooting for in the Haskell and why.Remember this is who you want to win(not necessarily who you think will win) :)
